Q: Do I have to start at the beginning of the 8-week block?
No. Students are welcome to join at any point in the 8-week cycle. Because the class is fully tutored with individual instruction, the tutor will guide you based on your current level and help you integrate into the ongoing pose study.
Q: What if I miss a class?
That’s absolutely fine. You can simply continue the following week and progress at your own pace. There is no penalty for missing a session, and the tutor will help you refocus when you return.
Q: Why do you use the same model and pose for 8 weeks?
This is part of our classical atelier-style training approach. Working from the same pose over several weeks allows students to: Improve proportion and structure Refine anatomy and form Develop more finished drawings or paintings Correct mistakes over time This method is commonly used in professional art academies and is rare in public life drawing classes in London.
Q: Is this class suitable for beginners?
Yes. Beginners receive guidance on: - Measuring and proportion - Gesture and basic structure - Shading and simple form - More advanced students receive deeper anatomical and compositional feedback, so all levels benefit in the same session.
Q: Can I choose between drawing and painting?
Yes. You may focus on: - Drawing (charcoal and pencil), or - Painting (acrylic or watercolour) The tutor will give medium-specific advice depending on your choice.
Q: Is this a social “drink and draw” session?
No. This is a serious, skills-focused, fully tutored art class designed to help students build strong foundations in figure drawing and painting.
Q: What's the cancellation policy?
A: No cancellations, but free to reschedule up until 3 days before the class
