The truth is, everyone starts somewhere, and this session is designed to make that first step feel easy and low-pressure. With a friendly teacher guiding you through each stage, it's more about having fun and switching off than getting everything "right".

Hello! I’m Lisa, I’m 53, and I live in Solihull, West Midlands. I have always loved to draw, and as a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s, drawing was my go-to when it was a rainy day and ‘playing out’ wasn’t an option. Fast forward to being 19, I just finished an Art Foundation at the then Coventry Polytechnic (Cov Poly as it was known), and I left feeling not good at art and very disillusioned. Apart from making the odd birthday card, I shelved artistic pursuits for over 30 years.
Menopause arrived along with ‘feeling lost.’ I hardly recognized who I was anymore and felt like part of me had simply disappeared. With encouragement from my then teenage daughter, I started drawing and painting again. To my surprise, I actually started to feel like my old self again. I felt really good! I even sold some of my art and did some pet commissions, which really blew my mind. I began to think there must be other women my age feeling the exact same way. Maybe I could help them feel good too through making art. Vibrant Vibes was born, and since I started 2 years ago in May 2021, I have loved every second. Watching women go from attendees to ‘regulars’ means I have created a lovely community and some great friends who love to paint. Some describe it as ‘their therapy’ or ‘happy place, ’ which is more than I ever imagined.
