Recent reviews of Taster Wheel Throwing Pottery Class
5/5 from Stephen Dering, attended Aug 2026: Amazing teacher who really took the time to explain to two deaf people about pottery and demonstrate before we tried. I brought this experience as a suprise for my partner. Would highly recommend and cant wait to get our finished bowls.
5/5 from Jairaj Patel, attended Feb 2026: The teacher was amazing. You could tell she loved the craft and loved sharing it. The begining was all about the history of clay and her experience whilst learning how to mold clay with your hands. The latter time spent on the wheel. The studio is small and fits maximum 6 people in a session. That was great to me as it was 3 pairs of couples in our session. We all had wheel each and made about 3 pots, (depending on skill here haha) which they offer to kiln and glaze with pick after 10days. The small size also meant the teacher could easily interact with everyone easily and never felt left behind. Incredibly fun. Great teacher. Fantastic time.
5/5 from Tim Riches, attended Nov 2025: We did the taster session and absolutely loved it! We started by making clay bowls by hand before we moved to the wheel. Everything was explained really clearly and in a super fun way. Gioia was a great teacher, and we had so much fun - definitely recommend
5/5 from Emma Bell, attended May 2025: What an amazing class. Not only do you get experience in throwing on the wheel but you learn all about how to to handle the clay and the different types if tools. I am so excited to return in 2 weeks to collect my dishes - highly recommended. A lovely experience
5/5 from Shahariar Khan, attended Feb 2025: Knowledgable, friendly and supportive teacher. The class was very fun and time well spent
5/5 from Michael Doyle, attended Jan 2025: Brilliant class and teacher - would definitely recommend!
5/5 from Farha, attended Oct 2024: I had a fantastic first throwing class with Gioia for my birthday! There was no one else in the class that session so I luckily got a one-to-one which gave me her undivided attention and support! Gioia was so kind and so knowledgeable and passionate about her craft. I learnt how to wedge and prepare clay ay the table first before moving onto the wheel, as this would provide essential skills to make using the wheel easier. This has been something I have always wanted to try and I’m so glad this was my first class as the standards, praise and guidance were all excellent! PS. some of Gioia’s previous students came in just to say hello to her as they were in the area and it definitely goes to show the lasting impression she can leave with her students!
5/5 from Karen Law, attended Mar 2024: Gioia was super friendly and welcoming. It was mum's birthday and she sometimes struggles with her English but she was immediately at ease and had a great day! In such a short time we could see the progress that we had made
5/5 from Shawahang, attended Mar 2024: Gioia is a very skilled and patient teacher. She has a wealth of knowledge and is very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend Gioia's class to everyone!
5/5 from Clara Li, attended Nov 2023: Very fun and informative session, the time flew by much faster than expected! Would highly recommend :)
