Create a beautiful piece of stained glass art and learn about glass painting and leading in this complete stained glass art course in Birmingham.

Learning with the support and guidance of expert teacher and professional stained glass artist, Jamal, you'll gain essential stained glass skills in design, drawing, glass cutting, painting, cartooning and leading. If you're keen to focus on a particular element of glass working, your teacher can accommodate this for you.

Throughout your four-day immersive stained glass making experience, you'll use a variety of patterns, designs and completed examples to inspire a unique piece of your own. If stained glass creation is new for you, don't worry - this workshop is tailored to your needs and desired learning outcomes. This course is suitable for absolute beginners or those with a little more experience.

Fuelled by cups of tea and coffee and motivated by some of your teacher's own beautiful pieces of stained glass artwork, you'll use your ideas and creativity to produce a piece of glass work that you can treasure forever. Small class sizes mean that you'll get lots of individual tuition and you'll be closely supported to build your skills.

Learning in your teacher's relaxing and homely studio in Birmingham, you'll pick up a wealth of stained glass techniques that you can take away with you to develop after your course. Take part in this craft workshop solo or attend with friends or loved ones and share the experience together.

Your piece of glass work will be fired at the end of your four-day course. As the process of kiln firing takes a number of hours, you can arrange for your finished piece to be posted to you, or you can collect it when it's ready.

Jamal is a freelance artist and stained glass maker. He learnt his craft whilst working at John Hardman Studio (established in 1838), where he designed, restored and conserved stained glass windows for several historical buildings, modern architecture, private companies, and domestic clients. At Hardman, he explored Pugin's theory and Hardman's practice of gothic revival stained glass.

Through stained glass restoration, Jamal has mastered multiple glass painting styles and techniques used in medieval, arts and crafts, pre-raphaelites and gothic revival stained glass. With more than 20 years' arts practice, he has established himself as a freelance artist and educator. He is passionate about teaching his skills to others and produces hand-painted stained glass for a variety of global clients from his own little studio in Birmingham.

Jamal has a Master of Fine Arts in Arts Practice and Education from Birmingham City University, and a Master of Fine Arts in illustration/Graphic Design from the College of Art and Design, Lahore.
