Explore the craft of stained glass art and learn to make your own piece of stained glass artwork at this two-day glass course.

Guided by professional stained glass artist, Jamal, you'll learn essential stained glass skills including design, drawing, glass cutting and painting. If stained glass work is new to you, don't worry - this workshop is tailored entirely to you on the day and is suitable for absolute beginners or those with a little more experience.

Working in your teacher's homely studio, you'll be introduced to the craft of stained glass art and will develop your skills throughout your two days of learning. You'll use a range of finished pieces, designs and patterns for inspiration and will be supported to make your own unique piece to keep.

If you're searching for a stained glass workshop in Birmingham, join teacher Jamal and get started in your stained glass making journey. Small class sizes mean you'll receive plenty of individual tuition and you'll have lots of opportunities to ask questions and build your skills. Join solo as part of a class with two others, or attend with a friend or loved one in a private course for two.

By the end of your two-day stained glass course, you'll have gained a range of stained glass making skills to take forward for future projects and you'll have created your own piece of stained glass art to treasure.

Your piece of glass work will be fired during your two-day course. As the process of kiln firing takes a number of hours, you can arrange for your finished piece to be posted to you, or you can collect it when it's ready.

Jamal is a freelance artist and stained glass maker. He learnt his craft whilst working at John Hardman Studio (established in 1838), where he designed, restored and conserved stained glass windows for several historical buildings, modern architecture, private companies, and domestic clients. At Hardman, he explored Pugin's theory and Hardman's practice of gothic revival stained glass.

Through stained glass restoration, Jamal has mastered multiple glass painting styles and techniques used in medieval, arts and crafts, pre-raphaelites and gothic revival stained glass. With more than 20 years' arts practice, he has established himself as a freelance artist and educator. He is passionate about teaching his skills to others and produces hand-painted stained glass for a variety of global clients from his own little studio in Birmingham.

Jamal has a Master of Fine Arts in Arts Practice and Education from Birmingham City University, and a Master of Fine Arts in illustration/Graphic Design from the College of Art and Design, Lahore.
