Welcome to my creative space! My name is Danuše Sajvaldová, and I am a designer and dressmaker with a lifelong passion for textile arts and garment creation.
My journey with sewing started earlier than most—I was completely self-taught at first, beginning with clothes for my dolls. By the age of eight, I had already sold my very first hand-stitched mini skirt to a playground friend! That early spark led me to join a local sewing club, where I successfully made my first complete blouse and zipped skirt. Driven by a deep love for the craft, I went on to attend a specialised fashion design high school in the Czech Republic, graduating with my Maturita. I later pursued Textile Engineering at the University of Liberec before realising my heart truly belonged to the artistic and design side of fashion.
Seeking new horizons, I moved to England at age 24. I continued honing my craft by completing an Art and Design foundation degree at Harrow College, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design and Realisation from the prestigious London College of Fashion (University of the Arts London) in 2015.
Over the years, I have crafted bespoke, made-to-measure garments for clients, officially launching my own dressmaking business in 2021. Alongside custom design, my focus shifted to sharing my knowledge through teaching—starting with personalised 1:1 private lessons and expanding to group workshops at the Healthy Living Centre Dartford in 2023.
For me, teaching sewing is deeply rewarding. I love guiding students through the process—whether they are looking to socialise over a shared hobby, step out of their comfort zone, or overcome the intimidation of using a sewing machine or overlocker. There is nothing quite like watching someone’s creativity blossom and seeing their face light up with newfound confidence when they complete a project with their own hands.
Whether you are a complete beginner picking up a needle for the first time or looking to refine your technique, I would love to guide you on your sewing journey!
