Venue was good and easy to get to off the A33. The teacher was great, offering suggestions, tips and different colour alternatives for those that wanted to experiment. Special mention to the assistant helping us was with paint top-ups, extra palettes as well as napkins which was a much needed throughout the evening. There were a couple of pauses to grab a drink or step back from the canvas.

This particular painting required (at times) a very steady hand and although there were only 10-12 of us we were crammed into half of the upstairs area. I would have preferred to have more individual space in front of us to put all the easels, brushes, water etc.

I think the room setup also was not ideal as the teacher’s canvas was the same size as ours. Perhaps a larger demonstration canvas and the tables set up in a “u” shape would allow everyone to have a similar uninterrupted view of her canvas as well as a smaller sample image visible on the table in front.
Towards the end, it felt quite rushed ( I don't know whether this was down to the complexity of the picture itself) and although I am happy with what I produced on the night, I feel we could have done with another 15 minutes to add our final touches.
