Meet Sarmed: Artist, Teacher, and Creative Guide

I have dedicated my life to creativity, from writing and film to visual arts, with a journey marked by exploration and growth. Trained in classical realism at an atelier, I developed a deep appreciation for light, form, and technique. This foundation has led to recognition at the Paisley Art Institute (award winning), the Scottish Portrait Awards (finalist), the John Moores Painting Prize (second stage), and exhibitions both in the UK and abroad.

As a teacher, I blend structure with freedom. In my Drawing and Painting 101 to Advanced classes you will build solid foundations and surprise yourself with quick progress. In the popular Pour Painting class, students enjoy the playful flow of colour. In my six week Portraiture course, I guide students step by step from fundamentals to advanced realism.

My approach combines technical precision with an intuitive style, helping students find both joy and personal meaning in their art. Whether you are drawn to realism, abstract painting, or pour techniques, I create a supportive space for growth.
