A Hands-On Workshop in Botanical Pressing and Composition

2 hours

Class size 1 to 13 (public classes), 5 to 150
£65 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Join us for a slow, seasonal flower pressing art workshop hosted at the inspiring Thames-Side Studios (SE18 5NR) or at your own venue, where you’ll learn the mindful craft of preserving nature and creating botanical artwork with pressed flowers. Led by Botanica & Field, this gentle, creative experience is perfect for those wanting to slow down and reconnect with plants.
This beginner-friendly art workshop is designed for those completely new to flower pressing and botanical art. You’ll be introduced to the tools, materials, and techniques needed to work confidently with pressed flowers, with calm guidance and support throughout the session.
In this thoughtfully structured art workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of flower pressing, including how to choose suitable blooms, when to harvest, and how different plant materials respond to pressing. You’ll press a small selection of fresh flowers during the class and also work with a curated selection of pressed flowers grown and prepared by us from previous harvests.
As part of the art workshop, you’ll be guided through creating a simple yet beautiful composition using pressed flowers. We’ll explore balance, spacing, and natural flow, helping you design a piece that feels personal, whether your style is minimal and delicate or loose and garden-inspired.
This art workshop is suitable for all levels and is especially ideal for beginners looking for an accessible introduction to botanical creativity. It’s a calming, hands-on experience that encourages you to notice the beauty in small details while working with pressed flowers in a relaxed setting.
At the end of the art workshop, you’ll take home your finished artwork created with pressed flowers, along with the confidence to continue exploring the craft at home. All materials are provided, including tools, papers, botanicals, and aprons.
Our workshops are hosted regularly at Thames-Side Studios, and we can also bring this experience to your own venue, catering for private events of up to 150 guests. This makes the workshop a wonderful option for corporate events, retreats, celebrations, and group gatherings seeking a meaningful, nature-led creative experience.
We look forward to welcoming you, either in our studio or at your chosen venue for a calm and inspiring introduction to flower pressing and botanical art.
