One-To-One Knitting Workshop

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a one-to-one and ask any questions you have about Knitting

1 hour Class size 1 on 1       £28

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a One-to-one and ask any questions you have about Knitting. Stuck on a project? Need help with understanding a pattern? Trying to get to grips with a new stitch? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for complete beginners as well as new Knitters looking for that next step on, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need. It’s a great way to gain confidence with your craft, troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your current project in an easy, direct way or learn about stitches you’re not as confident with yet.

During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Artisan know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.

You’re sure to walk away a knitting pro, ready to take your designs to a new level!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 5/5 from Sandra Diesel, attended Oct 2025: Matt was very knowledgeable, helpful and patient when answering my questions and giving me practical tips to begin using knitting patterns. I would recommend anyone wanting to learn the basics to book a 1:1 knitting lesson.
  • 5/5 from Gayl Coleridge, attended Aug 2025: Excellent lesson with Matt who had even worked on a practice piece before the lesson. First rate
  • 5/5 from Kristina, attended Oct 2024: Sue B was a warm, kind and amazing knitting instructor! She had so much patience, when teaching me the foundations of knitting! Although it was difficult at first, by the end of the lesson, I was able to knit and pearl on my own. This would not have been possible without Sue showing me everything step-by-step, in such an accessible manner. I had so much fun, and will certainly be booking again with her to learn some more complex patterns. Thanks, Sue!
  • 4/5 from Rosie Horgan, attended Jan 2024: Kate was lovely… Only bad point is the hour flew away… Felt like 10 minutes…. I wonder if you can book a 2 hour slot? Needles and wool both great and not expected…
  • 5/5 from Ellie, attended Aug 2023: Sue B was a fantastic beginner teacher, no question was too much. She really guided me through each step and was very patient! I quickly learnt cast on/ off and purl stitch. She also advised me on different projects as a begginer. I can't wait to start this new hobby! Thank you so much Sue B (Oxford Store)
