Discover the art of capturing character and expression in this two-part oil painting course focused on portraiture. This guided workshop will take you through the essentials— working with colour, tone, and brushwork to bring your portrait to life. Across the two sessions you'll:Develop your skillsBuild confidenceCreate an oil portrait to take homeThe sessions are led by local artist Cristina who featured in the TV show, Sky Portrait Artist of The Year 2024. Cristina will provide an image for you to use for your painting or you can bring or you can bring a good quality photo of the person you would like to paint. Price includes 5 hours of expert tuition (over 2 sessions), all materials, tea, coffee and cake.

Two friends who met at the school gates to their sons's primary school and bonded over inset days and coffee. We open The Hive in July 2024. From different worlds, Felicity has a background in craft and spent the last 17 years designing and developing the Christmas bear for Harrods, Jo has spent her career in hospitality and events, making things happen! We have come together to create a Sanctuary in Sanderstead. We both grew up here in Sanderstead, so know how special this community is. We wanted to open somewhere for people to enjoy, relax and create in an ever busy world. We snapped up the opportunity to open a studio in a converted bus shelter! Join us for one of our many workshops, craft, connect, create.We also like to venture outside our little studio and get on the road! If you have a request for a workshop in a venue of your choosing then please give us a shout. We have facilitated workshops for corporate away days and charity team days and would love to help your team days be a memorable event!
