What you'll do
Transform broken crockery, colourful tiles, and other up-cycled treasures into your own mosaic masterpiece in this fun and creative workshop. With a wide selection of base shapes to choose from, you’ll design a piece that reflects your style while learning how to use different adhesives and materials with confidence.This workshop is perfect for complete beginners -- no previous mosaic experience is needed. You’ll be guided step by step in a relaxed, welcoming setting, making it easy to explore the craft and enjoy the process.What to expect:
- Choose from a variety of base shapes to create your mosaic.
- Work with up-cycled materials including tiles, crockery, and decorative pieces.
- Learn how to cut, arrange, and adhere your tesserae for the best results.
- Discover which adhesives to use for different surfaces.
- Watch a live demo on how to grout your piece.
- Take home a bag of grout so you can finish your mosaic at your own pace!

Your teacher
Travelling workshops run by Kim Searle. All my workshops are based on encouraging sustainability, building community and supporting attendees well-being. I am passionate about ensuring craft sessions are accessible to all, providing discounts on most courses for people on low/no incomes, seeking out venues that are wheelchair accessible and ensuring that workshops are calming with more of an emphasis on enjoyment and new skills over perfection.I also run workshops at festivals including Glastonbury, Green Man, End of the Road, Underneath the Stars, Deershed, Wychwood Cornbury, Greenbelt, Just So, Beacons, FarmFest, BeatHerder and more!I studied BA (Hons) Textile Crafts at the University of Huddersfield, specialising in textile printing. I’ve also studied weaving, felting, bookbinding, dark room photography and fine art printing at L'Ecole des Beaux Artes at Besancon, The Academy of Design in Kuopio and Leeds University, as well as studying a range of creative techniques on a foundation course at UcCA Canterbury.
