“I’ve been painting since I can remember, but it was only when I let go of the pressure to produce something perfect that I really found my passion. Helping a friend with her masters degree one day let me switch off and explore the marks, patterns and textures I made in response to classical music – it was so good to let go of the idea of perfection and traditional beauty, and just immerse myself in creating!

The process of painting is inherently calming, encouraging a state of mindfulness as people focus on the canvas before them. It's a chance to be fully present, to lose yourself in the rhythmic flow of the brush, and to let the mind wander freely!”

“It’s hard to pick out just one – there have been so many! Through teaching classes with Paintvine, I meet a huge variety of people and spreading the joy of painting is always an absolute pleasure! I mostly just love seeing people who don’t think they are creative leave full of self-confidence and with a huge smile on their face, with something they can take home to hang on the wall.
Being involved in someone’s creative journey like that is amazing. It always feels like we've made a positive impact on someone's day/!”

We find most of our guests haven’t picked up a brush since school, and this is part of the fun; reintroducing people to a creative outlet they used to enjoy. It takes a moment, but when people realise there are no rules, they can get truly caught up in the experience. Painting time flies by and the laughs and smiles at the end of the session are what makes our jobs so enjoyable!"
