About us

We are a craft studio and shop located in the beautiful Old Town in Eastbourne. The space is clean, modern and bright with configurable tables. It can seat 16 people. In addition we have an Espresso machine and offer a full range of coffees, teas, and hot chocolate and soft drinks.

Hi, we are Kate and Martin, the team behind Maker Studio in the lovely Old Town area of Eastbourne. I am Kate, a award winning crochet designer, I', known for my amigurumi crochet designs under the name Make Me Roar. I even won Kirstie's Handmade Christmas on Channel 4. Martin is an award winning creative director and designer who keeps everything looking beautiful.

At Maker Studio, we run all kinds of creative workshops including crochet, printmaking, art and writing, taught by an inspiring mix of artists and makers. Whether you are a complete beginner, a confident crafter or bringing the kids, there is something for everyone.

Our shop is filled with yarn, threads, tools and kits so good you will want to take one of each home. We mix our favourites with finds from independent makers and our own range of crochet kits designed right here in Eastbourne. Come and say hello, we would love to meet you.
