My origami journey began in childhood in Japan, where I first discovered the quiet magic of transforming a simple square of paper into something alive. Today, that wonder has grown into a lifelong practice — and a deep belief that making things by hand is one of the most grounding things a person can do.
I am a native Japanese instructor based in Twickenham, and I specialise in transparent "stained glass" origami using Japanese Hikari Torigami paper — a technique that creates stunning light-catching decorations that seem to glow. I also teach traditional origami using beautiful Washi paper, and adapt every session to the people in the room — whether that's a group of curious five-year-olds, a team of busy professionals, or adults looking for a moment of calm.
Before becoming a full-time maker and educator, I spent over a decade in tech consulting at Google. That experience taught me how to break down complexity into clear, achievable steps — which turns out to be exactly what good teaching requires.
I run Origami Club from Twickenham, with regular sessions at local community venues, schools, and corporate offices. What I love most is the moment a student holds up their finished piece and realises what their own hands are capable of. That moment never gets old.
Let's fold something beautiful together.
