I am a pyrography artist from Kent, producing hand burnt, wooden artwork and gifts.

With a background in illustration my creative journey led me to start experimenting with Pyrography in 2014. And shortly after set up my business ‘Made by Maika’.

I now run workshops teaching this unique craft – enabling others to tap into their creativity and try something new.

I perform live burning at events and make bespoke pieces and giftware. Nature has always motivated my work and I like to work onto off cuts and natural pieces of wood that are locally sourced.

Came as part of our hen party! Teacher was super helpful and clearly a lover of craft. We were able to bring our own drinks and snacks and had a lovely creative time doing pyrography.

I took my brother to this class for his birthday. The teacher was knowledgeable, which made the class very enjoyable. We certainly want to return to expand our knowledge on the subject.

Had such a great time in his class. Maika was absolutely lovely and very good at teaching us how to work on the wood burning. The place was really cosy too! I'm usually very shy but Maika made everyone really comfortable. I want to come back :)

I loved this class. Lovely friendly teacher and small cosy little group. I now have a wooden spoon, spatula and wooden disc/pendant decorated really well after the expert advice from the teacher. Great way to spend an evening.

The venue was amazing. It was filled it so many lovely things that I wanted to touch and make for myself. Our teacher was very friendly and her demonstration and explanations of how to use the pyrography pen was clear and easy to follow. I learned how to draw with fire. I enjoyed the class so much I have booked another one.

We had a great time at MYO. Maika was a great teacher. Nice airy venue, materials were perfect for what we needed and the class great value for money. I would highly recommend a class with Maika. She gave clear instructions, independence but on hand to provide help if needed.
