Join this relaxed and inspiring lino printing class in Kingston, where each session explores a different creative theme inspired by art history, nature, illustration, pattern, and seasonal subjects.
You’ll begin by learning the fundamentals of carving, inking, and hand-printing, using simple mark-making techniques as the foundation for your design. Each workshop offers a different theme and visual reference, ranging from botanical forms and decorative motifs to artist-inspired compositions such William Morris, Matisse and many more.
To keep things approachable and low-pressure, a pre-drawn design based on the theme of the day will be provided, allowing you to focus on the mindful rhythm of carving and printing. There’s also plenty of space to experiment, adapt the composition, or develop your own visual style if you wish.
The carving process is calm and meditative, while the printing stage brings a spark of excitement as your image gradually comes to life on paper. By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a small collection of handmade prints to frame, gift, or keep for yourself.
  • Learn how to safely and effectively use lino cutting tools
  • Explore different carving marks, textures, and printing techniques
  • Discover how to achieve a clean, professional-looking print finish
Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned creative looking to try something new, this workshop is designed to feel welcoming, mindful, and creatively fulfilling. It’s a wonderful way to slow down, work with your hands, and spend a couple of hours immersed in a tactile, traditional craft.
All materials are provided. Please bring an apron or wear clothes you don't mind getting a little inky. You’re also very welcome to bring your own drinks, hot or cold, to enjoy while you print.
Please note: Each class explores a different lino printing theme and subject matter. This workshop is for adults only.

Hi, I’m Eva Merendes, a contemporary visual artist and art tutor with over 6 years of teaching experience. I hold an MA in Fine Art, and I specialise in watercolours, acrylics, mixed media, pastels, drawing, printing methods, and sculpting. With a strong background in art therapy and years of experience working as a psychotherapist, I bring empathy, patience, and a deep understanding of personal expression into my teaching.
I’m fluent in both English and Greek, and I love helping students of all ages unlock their creativity, whether they are just beginning their artistic journey or looking to refine their skills. My private classes provide a safe and supportive space for exploration, where students can experiment with new techniques and grow at their own pace. I work from my studio in Kingston, but I also offer the option to teach at your location for added convenience.
You will also catch me facilitating weekly art workshops for both adults and kids, as I collaborate with other studios in south London. If I am not teaching, I am usually doing art gallery rounds in central London or drawing in my sketchbook new ideas for my paintings.
