Learn to cook from the comfort of your own kitchen with this 12-part online cooking course.
This cooking course suits beginners, teenagers, home leavers and families. It will give you the knowledge and techniques to create a series of tasty staple dishes at home.
Ideal for anyone who would like to master some new cooking skills
  • for teens set to leave home,
  • for children aged 11+ keen to get cooking,
  • teenagers taking part in Duke of Edinburgh Awards require a skill for 3 months.
  • reduce reliance on ultra-processed foods.
This class helps you confidently build your cooking ability to make delicious dishes with inexpensive ingredients.
Through 12 practical sessions, you'll learn to create a series of easy-to-prepare meals. Cook with your teacher with your camera on or off and interact as much or as little as you like.
As you progress through your cooking classes, you'll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get lots of tips and guidance from your friendly teacher.
You'll receive a list of ingredients before each class so you can have everything ready for your cooking sessions. As part of your class, you'll learn to weigh and prepare your ingredients for cooking.
The dishes you'll cook at each of your 12 cooking classes are:
7/1  Carrot and coriander soup
14/1  Bread and butter pudding
21/1  Chinese vegetable spring rolls
4/2  Vegetable sweet and sour stir fry
11/2  Baked vegetable samosas
18/2  Okonomiyaki  (HALF TERM)
25/2  Dhal and Naans
4/3  Pancakes and fruit filling
11/3  Shortbread biscuits
18/3   Pizza and salad
25/3  Meatballs and pasta
1/4  Simnel muffins
Throughout your online cooking course, you'll also learn:
  • Easy ways to repurpose ingredients and leftovers to create new dishes.
  • How to reduce food waste through correct storage of ingredients.
  • Knife skills, baking techniques, measuring, hob and oven use.
  • How to work with different flavours, herbs, and spices.
You'll finish your cooking classes with a new love of cooking and at least 12 staple dishes to create independently. You'll also feel confident to cook and experiment with flavours and ingredients without always having to refer to recipes – a brilliant way to continue to develop your cooking skills.
After each of your cooking classes, you'll have a delicious dish you made to enjoy with your family!

Please note:
If you or your child would like to undertake this course as part of a Duke of Edinburgh Award, please get in touch with your teacher about completing the online assessor form. There is a £30 fee for this.

After the first session, the next session is: 5-6pm for 12 consecutive weeks .

An adult must accompany any attending kids. The adult may observe at the class for free.

Hi, I’m Anne Marie. I love to cook and can't wait to share my knowledge with you. I have taught all ages since 2009 and gained a wealth of experience through my working life (30+ years!).
I have won several awards for my work in the community, including the ClassBento 'local legend' Award 2024!
I provide private, group, and community cooking programmes alongside corporate health and well-being workshops to encourage and enable people to cook from scratch.
I love to bake and teach traditional foods and popular dishes from around the world. I especially enjoy dishes that enable me to use seasonal fruit and vegetables from my allotment.
My sushi, pasta, fakeaway and afternoon tea workshops are very popular!
I also offer a variety of accessible cooking lessons to inspire you to cook regardless of your dietary requirements.
All my cooking experiences emphasise fun, health, sustainability, and affordability. They are simple enough for beginners but also enjoyable for those looking for inspiration in the kitchen.
They are great activities for anyone looking for a birthday or other celebration with a difference!
I provide bespoke private lessons and small group workshops from my home in Warwick, UK. I can also travel across Warwickshire and into the Cotswolds to a venue of your choice.
Cooking lessons are also available live via Zoom in your home. They are perfect for team-building events and bringing family and friends together worldwide.
I am very patient and used to working with beginners and people who are not confident in the kitchen.
I like to show people that cooking does not have to be complicated to taste good. It’s all about confidence in knowing what tastes good together and mastering some basic cooking skills.
I aim to be creative with essential ingredients already in your cupboard, which will inspire you to recreate them again and again. There is no need for fancy ingredient kits to be sent out for online classes.
Anyone can cook with encouragement, and I aim to make cooking a pleasure rather than a chore. I believe in sustainable cooking where possible and finding imaginative ways to use leftovers.
