You may never want to stop!

Discover the quiet art of Sashiko at this hands-on stitching workshop in East Sheen, SW14 – a two-hour session built around slowing down, learning something with real history behind it, and making something that's entirely your own.
Sashiko is a traditional Japanese craft with a philosophy as appealing as the patterns it creates: small, deliberate stitches used to celebrate mindfulness, creativity, and caring for the things you already own. Your host will introduce you to the history and beauty of the practice before guiding you through the techniques from scratch – no stitching experience needed whatsoever.
You'll learn how to safely thread and use a Sashiko needle, practise the stitching method at your own pace, and work on a project of your choosing – something to display at home, give as a gift, mend, or embellish. All tools and materials are provided, and there's tea, coffee, and nibbles to keep things feeling warm and unhurried throughout.
If you have something at home that needs a repair, feel free to bring it along for a look and some friendly advice.

Hi! I’m Alicia
I’ve spent over 20 years in sustainable fashion. I’m a sustainable fashion & behaviour change facilitator and former founder of a vegan shoe brand. I now run hands-on sewing and mending workshops as well as behavioural change campaigns in schools and corporations. These help people reduce fashion waste and feel empowered to care for what they already own. My work focuses on behaviour change, inclusion, and showing that there is a kinder, more sustainable way to live — one small, practical action at a time.
