What you'll do
Explore your creative side with this Japanese painting workshop in Birmingham, an engaging experience where you’ll learn to paint using traditional materials and styles. Guided by a local artist, you’ll discover techniques inspired by Japanese art movements such as Ukiyo-e and Rinpa while creating your own unique piece.No experience is needed. Whether it’s your first time painting or you already have some experience, you’ll be supported throughout in a relaxed and welcoming environment.What to expect:
- Learn about Japanese art styles including Ukiyo-e and Rinpa.
- Paint using traditional materials and techniques.
- Create your artwork on rice paper boards, rice paper fans, or silk fans.
- Step-by-step guidance from an experienced artist.
- A supportive, creative atmosphere where you can work at your own pace.
- A chance to share and reflect on your work with the group!

Access Cambridge street collective via the main entrance and head to the lift on the left hand side by the toilets. Then head to the 2nd floor.
Your teacher can also travel within 200 miles of Birmingham, to a venue of your choice for a private class.

From east to west and ancient to contemporary, workshops cover a variety of different artists and art movements and focus on exploring different cultures and developing unique ideas through the conversation with one's inner-self.​Classes are guided by Ula, a local artist with a bachelor degree in fine art and a masters in visual art. She has over 15 years of teaching experience.
