The Venetian Kitchen: a table for every season
In this class, you'll gather around a table inspired by Venice and the Italian countryside. You'll learn authentic recipes and cooking techniques rooted in the season's best produce, all in a convivial and relaxed setting. Each date on our calendar follows the rhythm of the seasons — so the recipes you cook will reflect exactly what's fresh and beautiful right now.
What you will cook
  • Starter: three traditional small bites - a bread‑based one, a fried one, and a marinated or stewed one. Perfect to enjoy with your aperitif (aperol spritz or a non‑alcoholic alternative).
  • Main course: a vibrant risotto, gnocchi, or pasta dish, chosen according to seasonal produce and market finds.
  • Dessert: a classic Venetian sweet treat to accompany your Italian‑style coffee, rounding off the meal with light, fragrant spring flavours.

  • 5/5 from Jack, Max, Harriet, Mom, attended Oct 2026: Super relaxing time had by all. Wonderful team Fabio were so attentive and focussed on us all having a great time. The opportunity to just focus on a relaxing moment together in our busy lives was so fabulous for our family. Thank you Fabio
  • 5/5 from Teresa Rizzi, attended Dec 2025: I cannot recommend this delve into Ventian cooking highly enough. From start to finish everything was so well prepared. Fabio's hands on teaching style was relaxed and fun. He has taken the mystrey out of making things I would not have attempted before, like gnocchi. Agnise worked so hard all day to make sure everything we needed was there from ingredients to clean bowls and utensils. The food we cooked was delicious and cannot wait to prepare for family and friends. It was a lovely atmosphere as the eight of us sat down to share the food. I will definitely come back to try different dishes as Fabio changes the menu according to the seasons. Congratulations to you both on a perfect day!
  • 5/5 from Seonaid Anthoney, attended Dec 2025: I had a lovely day cooking a Venetian Feast and learning more about Venetian food and its history. Fabio and Agnese were the perfect hosts and Fabio was a great teacher. I recommend this class to anyone who loves food and learning something new.
  • 5/5 from Harry, attended Dec 2025: I had an excellent experience on this cooking course, led by Chef Fabio. He was incredibly patient, explained everything clearly, and shared a huge amount of knowledge without ever making it feel rushed or overwhelming. The food itself was absolutely amazing — genuinely restaurant quality — and the whole session was both relaxed and informative. It was so good that I booked myself onto their next course the very same evening. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys great food and wants to actually learn, not just follow a recipe.
  • 5/5 from Karen Rose, attended Sep 2025: This class was really good. It was a birthday gift and my sister tagged along for the experience! Fabio and Agnes were so welcoming, warm and are fantastic hosts. It wasn't just about cooking, but also learning why and how theses recopies came about. The history behind them. I have a hearing impairment, and this was taken into consideration at all times. The food was wonderful, so fresh, authentic and tasty! Each dish was explained to us step by step, Fabio was on hand at all times to assist and answer any questions we had. I finally made mayonnaise from fresh (something I have been wanting to do for years) The venue is in a lovely spot in a park, light and roomy. All the tools and resources were available, we didn't need to bring anything, which was one less hassle. The venue was set with a welcoming décor, a lot of thought and time had gone into the presentation. It was a nice experience to sit down and eat the dishes we had created with everyone present at the workshop, an opportunity to socialise and meet new people. Fabio and Agnes kindly allowed my sister and I to amend our booking due to a change in our circumstances. I'm so pleased they did, as we had such a great time. I would defiantly recommend this class.
  • 5/5 from Stefanie Pfeil, attended Jun 2025: What a great experience. Fabio and Agnese were welcoming, and organised the day like clockwork. I not only learned how to make great food, I learned about the history and culture attached to it all. I will definitely come back.
  • 5/5 from Edmund, attended Apr 2025: Fabio and Agnes ran a wonderful day - they were patient, helpful, full of good ideas and useful advice, tolerant of mistakes (!) and made for excellent teachers and splendid hosts! I would recommend their courses to anyone who comes back from Venice and dreams of the food!
  • 4/5 from Olivia Kilmartin, attended Apr 2025: I chose to book this cookery class on a whim as I thought the cost seemed reasonable, and I was looking for inspiration for my home cooking. Fabio and Agnes were brilliant! So relaxed and welcoming and friendly. Everything was very well organised. Lots of historical background to the ingredients and dishes which made the class more interesting. The venue was lovely, next to a windmill in a small park. The other participants were very interesting to talk to and there were generous amounts of food and drink. I came away feeling very full and still had enough food to take home to my family.
  • 5/5 from Michele Shoebridge, attended Mar 2025: Had a fun cookery class making a variety of cichetti, mushroom risotto and zabaglione. Fabio was a great teacher and gave a good insight into the Venetian way of life and their food. Agnes a very efficient co-host. Highly recommended
  • 5/5 from Luisa Ropelato, attended Feb 2025: The class was perfect! Fabio is very knowledgeable about everything connected to Venice so we learned a lot about the dishes but also about Venetian history.
  • 5/5 from Linda Casbolt, attended Feb 2025: I’ve just cooked (and eaten) a delicious Venetian feast led by Fabio and Agnese. Everything was well organised, Fabio’s instructions were very clear, and they both put in a huge effort to make the room charming and the day run well. I personally enjoyed all the information about Venice and its food that Fabio filled our day with. Thank you both.
  • 5/5 from Mr George Jury, attended Feb 2025: Fabio and Agnes were amazing! The whole experience was great – from Fabio's cultural / history lessons about Venice & wider Italy to Agnes' attentiveness and well-run nature of the day. It felt calming and easy – we never felt rushed when making the dishes – and sitting down all together to eat the yummy (and seasonal) food at the end was the perfect end to the day. Thoroughly recommend Thank you both for a great experience!
  • 5/5 from Lynne King, attended Dec 2024: This was an excellent cookery class. My husband and I enjoyed the variety of dishes we made and really appreciated the stories which linked the dishes to the history of Venice. The host, Fabio, was very clear in his instructions and his partner, Agnes, did an outstanding job in setting everything up and clearing away so we could relax and enjoy the cooking and the fantastic lunch at the end. I recommend it to anyone who wants to try out ideas from a different cuisine - no pasta or pizza here but some lovely seasonal dishes. Thank you both.
  • 5/5 from Emma Smith, attended Dec 2024: Fantastic day - Fabio really brought the history and culture of Venice to life and Agnes made sure we were all organised and everything ran smoothly. A wonderful treat!
  • 5/5 from Adele Lyons, attended Sep 2024: This was a birthday present from my very good friend and we took it together Very informative Great company Food wonderful Lovely drinks
  • 5/5 from Rebecca Wolfe, attended Jun 2024: My friend and I had a lovely day. Great venue and set up. The food was wonderful and well explained with a good bit of history to with it. Our hosts were wonderful, fun, inviting, great teachers and created a wonderful environment.
  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Jun 2024: We had a wonderful day with Fabio and Agnes talking about Venetian food and culture and making some delicious dishes. These aren't overly complicated things to make, so you aren't going to be challenged by lots of process, but they do take care and attention. You will certainly be able (and want) to recreate them at home. The cichetti were interesting, the asparagus risotto scrummy and the Zabaione sublime. Orgabisation of the day is really in point, Fabio is wonderfully passionate, and Agnes keeps the whole show on the road brilliantly with quiet and dry humour. Sign up. You'll find a whole different side to food from Italy.
  • 5/5 from Silvia La Greca Bertacchi, attended Mar 2024: Such a wholesome experience! Hi everyone, we’re Fabio and Agnese, a trained cook and a stylist, and the voices behind the Venetian Kitchen.
We grew up in Venice and the countryside, surrounded by mammas and nonnas who taught us recipes and stories from the lagoon, plains, and mountains. Over ten years ago, we moved to yet another island and extraordinary town: London. While we’ve grown to love our new home, our heart remains with Venice and the Veneto region – a centuries‑long fusion of cultures that continues to inspire us.
Through The Venetian Kitchen, we bring those flavours and stories to our table, and to tables everywhere.
Our kitchen is both memory and invitation: a way to connect across borders through food and story, while celebrating simple, comforting recipes that bring people together. Guided by nature and seasonality, each recipe carries the same spirit of simplicity, honesty, and celebration. That is why, while many of our dishes are rooted in Venetian tradition, we also embrace creativity. Some are inspired by memory, others by the ingredients and approaches of the Veneto region, reimagined for today’s tables.
We like to think that more than food, the Venetian Kitchen is about community and connection – sharing the untold stories of our Venetian cuisine and creating moments of warmth wherever people gather.
Alongside the Venetian Kitchen, Fabio runs Brixton Windmill baking classes throughout the year. Agnes leads on recipe development and food styling, as well as interior‑designing and table‑scaping welcoming spaces and dining tables for our cooking classes.
We are both members of the Venice in Peril Fund, the leading British charity dedicated to safeguarding the rich cultural heritage of Venice, now and for future generations.
We’re grateful you’re here, and we hope you’ll cook along with us – through our recipes, our classes, and the stories that make every dish a celebration of flavour and comforting simplicity.
