What is Star Setting?
A star setting is one in which a gemstone is placed into the centre of an engraved star. The stone is held in place by a small bead of metal at the base of each of the points.
Come and learn how to star set gemstones. You will work with copper sheet and gemstones to hone this challenging yet rewarding jewellery technique. You get to make your own tools to aid setting the stones. All materials you need are provided. A star setting kit is included for you to take home.
What you'll get
A kit that includes:
Your own graver, beading tool, drill bit, round burr, stone setting burr, degree cutting burr, thick copper sheet, wooden handle, and lots of gemstones.

Star setting is an advanced jewellery-making technique.
This workshop is a great complement to our 'Introduction to Flush Setting.'
