Introduction to Block Printing Workshop

Hello! I’m Peter, the creative mind behind Rixham Jones Interiors, where craftsmanship, colour, and creativity come together. My journey began with a deep love for design and making — a fascination with how a few simple materials, guided by thoughtful hands, can transform into something truly beautiful. What started as a passion for bespoke handmade lampshades has grown into a broader creative studio where I now share my love of making through hands-on workshops.My first taste of teaching came quite naturally. Friends and customers were always curious about my processes — the paints, the prints, the textures — so I began hosting small creative sessions. The joy of seeing someone’s confidence grow as they discover what they can create with their own hands was addictive. That’s what keeps me teaching: watching people light up (sometimes literally!) when they see their finished piece and realise “I made that!”I now run a varied programme of workshops from my studio at The West Retford Hall, including Annie Sloan Chalk Paint techniques, block printing, textile printing, and lampshade making. Every class is designed to be relaxed, inspiring, and accessible — whether you’re a total beginner or someone looking to rekindle a creative spark.Over the years, I’ve taught hundreds of students — from individuals wanting to refresh their homes, to creative team-building sessions for groups and small businesses. I’m proud to be an official Annie Sloan Stockist, meaning all my paint-based workshops follow the trusted Annie Sloan methods.Something people are often surprised to learn is just how versatile and sustainable these crafts can be — from transforming tired textiles with hand-carved printing blocks to giving old furniture a new lease of life with chalk paint.
