Knowledge required
Suitable for new sewists, but you should have some experience using a sewing machine. If you're a total beginner, check out our Beginner Sewing workshop first!

Any medium-weight fabrics you'd like to incorporate into your project, such as cotton, poly-cotton, light wool, or linen.

The Studio is well serviced by lots of bus routes: 1, 4, 5, 19, 26, 34, 35, 44, 45, 113, 124, X5, X6, X7. A small car park is available. Abbeymount is an old Victorian building and the studio is accessed by stairs.

Studio Nine is Edinburgh's home for sewing, pattern, and creative workshops, right in the city center located in Abbeymount Studios in Abbeyhill!Join the founder Jen along with a host of talented resident and guest teachers for everything from sewing to upcycling & alterations, garment making, creating your own pattern blocks, pattern hacking & much more! Our purpose-built workshop is bright, spacious, and fully equipped to support you in your sewing project from start to finish.About Jen:I am a sustainable fashion designer having studied in Ireland before coming to Scotland to do a Master's in Sustainable & Ethical Fashion. My work uses exclusively vintage and reclaimed materials in a bid to showcase the beauty of reuse. I really enjoy teaching people and sharing in the joy of creating, upcycling, and making unique pieces.Join me and our other wonderful teachers in a group session or 1:1 to learn sewing, upcycling, pattern drafting, and more!
