Danine Cakes
Danine Cakes

female Women-owned

Hi, I'm Shinhye, the baker behind Danine Cakes.
I started taking baking seriously after years of quietly enjoying cake decorating more than my actual day job. One cake became a few cakes for friends, then friends of friends, and now Danine Cakes is what I do full-time, working out of my kitchen in Streatham and making bespoke celebration cakes for weddings, milestone birthdays, and christenings.
Cake is the one part of a celebration everyone gathers around: the candles, the toast, the first slice. It's the centrepiece. Being trusted with that moment, for someone's wedding day or their child's first birthday, still feels like a privilege every single time.
Teaching grew out of customers asking how I did it. Watching someone pipe their first proper rosette, or smooth buttercream and suddenly get the technique, is honestly one of my favourite parts of the week. Classes are sticky-fingered and full of laughter, nothing like watching a tutorial alone in your kitchen. You leave with a cake you made yourself, skills you'll actually use, and usually a few new friends.
A couple of things people don't always realise about cake. That flawless finish you see on Instagram isn't piped, it's sculpted with a hot scraper and a turntable, and almost anyone can pick it up in an afternoon. And good buttercream is about technique, not the recipe: whipping time and temperature change everything.
I hold a 5-star food hygiene rating and I'm fully insured, so you can focus on the fun part while I take care of the rest.
Whether you've decorated a hundred cakes or you've never picked up a piping bag, I'll make sure you leave with something you're properly proud of. Come bake with me.
