What you'll do
If you've been mixing glazes in your studio and mastered your line blends, and now want to further your understanding of glaze basics - this is the course for you!
In three sessions, you will focus on Flux colour response through a set of hands-on exercises. You will learn how certain materials will alter your metal colouring oxides and base glazes as well as how to measure the Specific Gravity of your glaze. This course will allow you to take your glaze-making to the next level.
Your tutor will be on hand throughout the course to answer any questions you may have and provide plenty of insight into the glazing processes. You'll leave with a host of test tiles to take home with you, along with the skills to recreate these amazing processes yourself.
Knowledge required
Basic understanding of glaze making, previous experience of mixing glazes.
What you'll get
- Clay to produce test tiles, raw materials to mix glazes and all equipment required to do so.
- A basic dust mask.
