What you'll do
In this 2-hour session, your team will learn the basics of Itajime Shibori, a Japanese resist-dyeing technique (aka a sophisticated tie-dye) that uses folding, clamping, and indigo dye to create bold, one-of-a-kind geometric patterns on fabric. No experience needed. Just curiosity, a willingness to get slightly blue-fingered, and an open mind.It's the kind of session where people who "aren't creative" surprise themselves. There's real chemistry involved, a satisfying moment of reveal when the fabric is unwrapped, and plenty of room for playful experimentation alongside the people you work with every day.What makes it great for teams:

Knowledge required
Completely beginner-friendly. No previous experience or skills are needed whatsoever.
What to bring
Everything is provided, but team members are welcome to bring a small, well-washed, light-coloured garment to dip in the vat, which must be at least 80% natural fibre (cotton, silk, or linen work well). We'll temporarily transform your space into a working artist's studio, so encourage people to wear clothes and shoes they don't mind getting a little inky, as indigo can stain. Gloves will be provided.
Your teacher
I'm a visual artist and arts educator working with natural colour, textiles, clay, seeds, and flowers I gather myself. Since 2018, I've been designing and leading sustainable, hands-on workshops and mindful sessions for all kinds of groups: corporate teams looking for something genuinely different and engaging, hen parties wanting a fun creative afternoon, and people who just love making things and learning about plant dyes and fibres.My sessions are grounded in mental health and well-being. I create spaces for play, fun and connection, where there's no right or wrong, just the pleasure of making something with your hands that you can take home at the end of the workshop.Based in Wapping, I'm also happy to travel to your venue. Available for private bookings, team-building events, hen dos, and more.
