In Depth Luxury Leather Craft Course

In this course, we’ll be making a true luxury slim folding card holder. You will be learning and getting plenty of practise with the actual skills used in high-end leather crafting like the big French house. We'll have fun but this is a serious course, no Mickey Mouse nonsense.For this item, we will be working with Epsom Calfskin leather. Epsom is a printed grain leather which means the texture is embossed onto the surface. This is done for both aesthetic and practical reasons. The printed grain is incredibly scratch-resistant making it perfect for items that will see a lot of use.You can choose the colour of Epsom you would like. Go wild if you want and choose different colours for the outside, inside, and even every card slot. You can also choose the colour of your stitching.In this 2-day course, you will be learning about and using the following skills:Saddle stitching which includes:

• correctly locking thread onto your 2 needles
• making your stitch holes
• getting a feel for correct tension while stitching
• backstitching to finish a stitch line
• Leather Skiving
• Decorative Edge creasing
• Prepping for and finishing edges

This course is designed for beginners with no prior leather crafting experience required. The ultimate goal is to have you confident that you have the skills to not only make more of the item you'll make during the course but also tackle other similar skill level projects. As such, while the course assumes no prior experience, you will be learning actual skills and will have plenty of practise.My studio is located in Wellington House, Pollard Street, Manchester. It's a 2-minute walk from Holt Town on the Ashton Metrolink line.In every course, you will learn the actual skills needed to start or progress your leather craft journey. Classes are small so I can provide the guidance needed for everyone. We’ll start with the raw materials and go through every step I would go through myself to get to a final item.I have been honing my craft for the past 8 years.
