Throughout the year, Hobbycraft host a variety of workshops in stores and online, designed to give everyone the opportunity to master a new craft or refine a long-time favourite. Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

I really enjoyed my one to one class learning how to set up and use a sewing machine. The venue was west Worthing, I was greeted and taken to a workshop area which had everything ready to use. My instructor was very helpful and pleasant. I was shown how to thread the machine up and all the components of the machine were explained. Then I had an opportunity to have a go at stitching.any general questions I had were answered and the session had a lovely relaxed enjoyable vibe. Brilliant for novices like me with little idea of how to use a sewing machine. Gave me confidence to get stuck in to a new hobby. Many thanks to my friendly and helpful teacher!

Would’ve loved a little more input /guided instruction on how to make a specific monster, rather than just free play to make anything. We could’ve bought the materials and done that at home. My suggestion: 10mins for “here’s how you make ”, then 20mins for free play.

My daughter attended the Pipe cleaner flower workshop. It was a surprise for her 9th birthday. She loved it! She is already very creative and it was just the right level for her to do unaided. If children are younger they will probably need a little help from their parent.

Mel was amazing and made the whole session really informative. Any questions I had Mel answered and covered so much about design space I had never thought of.

The workshop was excellent, I think the teacher was Emily she made the class such fun, didn't make me feel like an idiot for not knowing things about the new machine. Between us we discovered things neither of us knew. The venue was fine, a bit noisy with the rain hitting the roof. the fabric that gave us projects to do to use the dials was inspired idea. We found that the manual is a bit light on information but an experienced sewer could work things out for themselves, a total novice might struggle a bit. The Navy blue on the machine where the marker are is difficult to see (navy on navy) needs the line to be highlighted I used tipp-ex on mine to make it clearer. We both learnt how to use the auto threader it's tricky, definitely a knack to it. The scallop stitch does not come out as the picture shows. Very good value for money

Donna was great, very patient and helpful. Was a complete beginner intro to sewing machine. Materials provided were basic but perfect for the session. Learnt how to do the basics of putting thread onto bobbin, loading the bobbin & thread, different functionality of the machine including different stitches and how to securely start and end stitches.
Now I need to go off and practice so I can get started
However I felt that, even though I was lucky to get the session on a slightly reduce price, for what it was I think the cost could have been a lot less. Yes I appreciate Donna spent an hour with me & I used some thread, some sample material, a machine and it was an hour long session but we’d covered off probably after half an hour and I don’t feel I needed to really book a session like that to learn what I did - I could have asked a member of staff to talk me through how to load up the machine. Next time I will do that instead of paying money out unnecessarily

Half term fun - kids canvas painting
My son had fun and the teacher was friendly.
Small area where the table was set up.
A good choice of paint colours but would have been nice to have extra palettes so the kids could experiment a bit more with mixing colours

3 of us have always wanted to crochet and this workshop was a good starting point.
Michelle and Hannah were both amazing and very patient.
The area was tucked away at back of shop which was perfect.
We learned to make a chain, Double and Treble stitch.
The materials provided were good quality and the workshop was very good value for money.
We all had fun, relaxed atmosphere and achieved more than we thought we would!

Booking this session was very much out of my comfort zone having spent a few weeks teaching myself to crochet granny squares from online videos I was worried my knowledge was too basic BUT i was put at ease right from the start with very gentle and brilliantly explained answers to all of my questions from wool types, finally learning how to do a ‘magic circle’ without my yarn looking like a cats cradle! I came away with some solid knowledge and calm contentment. Every staff member I interacted with was so lovely - highly recommend!

I was expecting lots of clever crafts or tips and tricks to make something special but we were presented with a pack of cards and felt tips. And then some pipe cleaners that we couldn’t really use as the glue provided wouldn’t stick. So we probably could’ve saved money and done it all at home.

The teacher was amazing and very accommodating. The venue was lovely and warm. It was great value for money, however they had not provided the teachers with enough materials for the group. The other thing that would be useful would be to make it clear that it was an hour class not 30mins as advertised as was a struggle for my 5 year old to stay engaged for the whole hour.

Good position in the store so that we were not interrupted or distracted. Good value for money and I'm really pleased with the results. An excellent introduction and a good way to learn a new craft and gain the confidence to have a go at home.

A brilliant hour spent in the West Worthing branch creating a beautiful Christmas Wreath. We started with a basic kit and Rebecca talked us through preparing our items,how to place the decorations and how to fix with the glue guns. Rebecca helped us all along step by step and then produced boxes of extra natural products of which some had Christmas scents like dried orange slices and cinnamon sticks and we added our choice of those. The final part was to tie and fix the ribbon.
I’d not found a wreath I liked enough to buy so when the offer of a class with 20% off the price came through on my emails I applied for a place and I’m so glad I did.
It’s been a wonderful hour of crafting. Thank you Rebecca and Hobbycraft.

This was a great introduction to crochet. As an absolute beginner the teacher was very patient and went over things at the pace of the group. There were 3 of us in the class and I would say that was about right as the teacher was able to spend individual time with all of us.

Mel was very knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed using a Cricut machine. She was able to answer all our questions and we were able to try out the Design Maker software. We were not pressured into purchasing immediately and were given pros and cons for the different machines and she showed us the decorations displayed in store and how they would have been made and which material is best.

Great activity & good value for money. A range of clay colours were given to make multiple halloween clay creatures. Pre-made creatures were also on display for ideas. My 5 -year old was engaged for the full 30 minutes and continued to make more when we got home with the left over clay.

All members of the group received a complete acrylic pouring set to use and take home as well as a box of 4 coasters. This makes the workshop really good value for money as you come away with enough equipment to make a couple of projects at home.

Lovely morning & the lady leading was very nice and friendly.
However, there was a lack of equipment I felt as only paint and x1 brush type.
Some other painting tools would have made this a little better and kept the kids entertained for a little longer, as we were finished in half an hour.
My daughters both enjoyed it though.

We attended the class as a group of three friends who had not very much crochet experience between us. Katie was very welcoming and extremely patient. We loved the crochet kits which were given to us ( great value for money, as it was included in the cost of the course) and using thicker wool and hook than we would have chosen ourselves proved excellent for teaching us how to see the stitches easily.
Katie was easy to talk to and we felt were able to ask questions and were given support when we didn't understand something ( or had lost the odd stitch!) .
The crafting table was discreetly at the back of the store so it did not feel like we were on display to the other shoppers.
Thank you for inspiring us to try a new craft we are now going to book the Granny Square course for a couple of months time so we can continue to practice and hopefully improve.

Had a brilliant afternoon learning how to acrylic paint pour with Rebecca. A very paitent teacher, who gives clear instructions & works at the pace of the group. A box of acrylic paints, canvasses & coaster tiles werea tools for the afternoon. We got shown how to mix the paints & two different techniques which gave different effects. It was like being a kid again, being allowed to make a mess & create something unique. Well worth the money & would highly recommend this course. Thank you. :-) xx

A really lovely tutor with a well set up and clearly taught session. We had a small friendly group with the session set up privately at the back of the shop. All materials provided & great to be able to take that kit home too. Would definitely be tempted to try another workshop.

Excellent patient teacher who took the time to make sure everyone in the group understood and knew what they were doing for each stage of the lesson .Happy to answer questions and repeat steps if you were unsure. The kids love these little crafting sessions. The area is in a quiet part of the store which is great for nervous children. Louise had a wonderful warmth about her and leads the session at the right pace for the children within the group. All the materials are great quality and although there is no pressure to buy anything, are available to buy in the store afterwards so the children can continue to practice their new skills at home. My grandchildren have loved doing these sessions over the summer holidays and can’t wait to do more in the October half term holiday.

Our first time using air clay. Good selection if colours and the children gad freedom to make what they wanted. Louise was really helpful teaching my two children (6 and 9 years) how to get a marble colour effect. Great time had by all!

my session was held yesterday friday 29 july 2.00pm to 3,00pm. Gemma was from the beginning of tutoring extremely welcoming to me and made me feel at ease . Gemma was also so patient and was happy to go over time and time again how to thread the bobbin on the machine and and let me practice with out feeling awkward .Gemma was truly excellent .

I attend this class after having done the basic crochet stitch class a few week’s previously, definitely a good idea to do both in that order. I was very lucky as I was the only one booked so had one to one tuition. Katie is a lovely girl who is passionate about her craft and had a lot of patience teaching me. The yarn supplied was perfect and the colours were great. Overall an enjoyable and productive 1 and 1/2 hours

A lovely afternoon with Rebecca as our teacher. She showed us different techniques used in painting, explained how to mix colours from our pallets in the little holes (can't remeber the proper name) to get different shades of colour. How to use our brushes to get the most from them & we ended up with a grassy meadow scence with a bumble bee. Well worth the money, all equipment was provided & got to come away with brushes, paint pallet & a water colour pad, so I can practise more. Thank you. xx

Comprehensive explanation of how to use Circuit for a beginner. The workshop covered the essential materials and function of the Cricut machine. During the hour there was time to ask questions and start to craft a garment. It was fun and informative!

Katie was amazing. She herself is left handed, but was able to teach both ways so helped everyone. She was very patient and help 2 women who had very little/to none experience of crocheting . But even though I had some knowledge she was still able to help with my questions and point me in right direction. Very enjoyable class, and a goodie bag with Hook, 2 balls of wool and snipes. Also included a work sheet with very clear instructions on how to make your first granny square

Due to small class everyone was given individual training. The tutor explained everything well and showed different techniques to suit everyone ability. Training was given in a quiet area of the shop. All equipment was provided.

First time we have done something like this at hobby craft, the class sizes are small which makes for less chaos.
My two children loved doing this and I will definitely book again.
We had the pleasure of the manager taking our class and she was very pleasant and attentive to the children and even managed to answer my questions while still taking the class. Worthing store staff are all polite and helpful.

The lady that taught myself and my sister, was absolutely amazing! The venue was good and we got a lot of pouring acrylic, 4 thin canvases, pouring measuring cups and 4 tile coasters for free We were the only 2 at the workshop but it was brilliant. We learnt a lot about the amount of acrylic paint to use and also how to make cells with silicone oil. I would recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to learn. Thankyou to the lovely young lady that taught usu were awesome!

The Assistant was so calm and calmly took my girls through the steps to make their clay animals and used lovely positive and encouraging language . The air clay is great too as was messy free but they loved taking them home to enjoy !

BRILLIANT & LIFE CHANGING

I planned to take my 15 year old daughter to this class, but got covid. So I gave my place to my 18 year old daughter and sent them off together. Both of them had concerns about going, but grudgingly went. They had no idea how to crotchet before, found the class helpful and interesting, said the time went very fast, and came out having learnt a new skill.

In the two days since their 1.5 hour lesson, the 18 year old has made a length of rectangular wool - let's call it a very short scarf. And the 15 year old has made:

A scarf - or something
A scrunchie
A hat
A bikini top

and has now rushed out to get more wool to make a bag.

So, not only is this an excellent class that taught my daughters skills they couldn't quite grasp from watching YouTube videos, but it's also a way to get teenagers involved in a new hobby - which, quite frankly, is a phenomenal achievement!

If you're ruminating about whether or not to take this class, ruminate no more. Just do it. Thank you so much to the teacher - you were clearly brilliant.

Although more expensive than lots of the other children’s workshops, the equipment we were given and have been able to take home explained the cost. I booked two places for my two granddaughters, on an Easter craft workshop. The venue was great. Materials provided were perfect. The teacher was very helpful and explained instructions clearly . We were so grateful, because of traffic problems, we were running late! My husband phoned Hobbycraft to explain the situation . Hobbycraft staff were so amazing and understood, totally, about the traffic problems. They allowed us the allotted time booked so that the girls could enjoy the craft workshop, which they really enjoyed.

Wry useful demonstration of the basic operation of a Jerome sewing machine included was how to thread the bobbin and needle and to change the walking feet and had a chance to practice these. I was able to have a little play with sewing a straight line running stitch and some free motion circles , which was helpful.

I was lucky enough to have 1 on 1 tuition from Katie, a lovely lady who taught me the basic stitches of how to do a slip knot, chain stitch, double crochet & treble crochet. Included in the cost I received 2 large balls of wool, a crochet hook, paper instructions on how to do the stitches and a bag to keep it all in. The workshop was held in a quiet area of the shop, and in my opinion was great value for money to learn a new skill. I would happily recommend this to family and friends. I booked a lesson on putting in a basic zip, however, as I'm making a skirt with a concealed zip, Abbie used that instead. I've never done one before and she talked me through each step, which I then did on the machine. She showed me how to correct the mistakes I made and was positive and encouraging throughout.
It was enjoyable and I came away with much more confidence and a sense of achievement. I will definitely book again as I build my skills and I highly recommend.

I was a complete novice. Tried many times to teach myself and failed miserably. Katie explained everything and demonstrated perfectly. By yhe end of the time I could do double and triple crochet. Crochet for beginners was a great introduction. I received a box with the wool, crochet hook and very clear picture instructions. Katie taught and was very friendly and a clear teacher which was great. We learnt some basic skills and I was able to carry this on at home. It definitely takes perseverance but I’m enjoying it. The canvas workshop was good fun - great value for money with the canvas provided as well as the paints, brushes, water and pallets. My daughter really enjoyed herself and made a lovely canvas with her initial on to hang on her bedroom wall!

I had a lovely afternoon at Hobbycraft inRustington. The tutor was lovely and very knowledgeable and helpful. I produced 2 beautiful pictures to take home with a really useful kit of paints and accessories to make 2 more pictures at home. After watching so many films of this being done it was really satisfying to finically produce my own.

Thoroughly enjoyed my beginners crochet class. The materials given to us in our package were excellent. We learnt to chain, double and treble stitch, add another ball of yarn and finish. Fantastic, patient teaching in a nice quiet setting. Would highly recommend.

Great teacher, especially as she had to step in at the last minute because no one had told the store we were due to do a class even though we had booked.
The teacher was very patient and showed us the skills again and again even when we struggled to pick it up at first. I feel the class could have benefited from being an extra half hour to give us more time to practise.

The location within the store was very open to other customers roaming the store which might put off people with no experience of painting. The materials provided were very good and the advice given about other products relating to the course was excellent.

I really enjoyed the crochet for beginners workshop. Katie was a great teacher, very patient and clear with her instructions and always ready to help if you were struggling. We received a box with yarn, crochet hook and written instructions that we needed. The lesson flew by and I learnt the basic stitches. Now to put what I have learnt into practice!

This is my 2nd lesson with her and she showed me various ways of taking up sleeve jackets both by using the machine and hand sewing.
It's a very relaxed atmosphere with everything on hand.
Highly recommended for people new to sewing machines.

I had a brilliant learning experience! I was 1 of only 2 doing the workshop, which helped, as we had near personal attention. Our teacher demonstrated the letters with great skill, making it look easy, and she was very patient and encouraging with our early attempts. She gave plenty of guidance, hints and tips to help us to become proficient - after lots of practice! Brush script writing is harder that it looks but the teacher gave us confidence to keep trying and I think I could eventually master this skill and adapt it to my own style. Thank you.

The teacher was friendly and helpful. Her instructions were clearly stated and she was happy to repeat.
We were seated in a quiet corner and had enough space to work. The box with equipment was a nice touch. I personally did not like the choice of colour of the wool provided and would have preferred to be allowed to choose two balls of what colour I would like.
I would recommend the course and hope Hobbycraft will run the next level up course to enable me to progress further.

Abbie was great. I am a complete novice regarding sewing machines and she explained everything really clearly. I made notes. I am very pleased to hear she will be my teacher on my next one to one lesson in Jan and she helpfully guided me through the pattern preparation i needed to do and we chose the material for the project. The course was purchased as part of a Black Friday deal so very good value. Ten out of ten for Abbie.
P.S. Signage could be improved as on entering the store I immediately followed the floor signs saying “To Workshop” to the back of the store and waited at an empty table for five minutes convinced I’d got the wrong day!

First, I have to say Louise was great. She was really friendly, extremely helpful and made everything simple to understand and was ready to help when I broke the glue gun! It was good that you got to keep the leftover decorations (if there were any!) plus a glue gun and spare sticks so I can try more decorations in the future. I felt it was reasonably priced as you got the wreath and accessories as mentioned plus the time of Louise showing us what to do. Great activity especially at this time of year.

Make sure you take a couple of plasters with you as the gold wire is deadly lol.

Tyler, was a good teacher, I learnt the basic functions on the ipad how to use design space for my Cricut, but would have been more useful if on my own laptop, as he said functions vary. He showed me how to use design space but I fear by the time I actually get to use it I may have forgotten by then .
Good value for the hour at the Black Friday price, may have to book another session though.

Just the right number of participants for the space. Tutor very knowledgeable giving tips for further marbling. Only down point was that it was in the store where customers were walking around and trying to get passed. A separate room would gave been much better.

Chloe (11years old) had a great time.
The teacher was soft and calm and didn’t mind repeating instructions for Chloe and let me take videos so we can look back on them. Everything was provided and the workshop was excellent.
Chloe came back home knowing a lot more about how to handle her sewing machine and some patterns to practice.

Very enjoyable class. You get to make 6 large and 6 small marbled ceramic baubles. You also come away with everything you need to do marbling at home. Nice small group size and friendly workshop host.
My only criticism would be that you weren’t able to choose the two colours you use so I have 12 baubles that I won’t use.
Top tip would be to wear old clothes and shoes as it’s quite drippy!

Great products, no tuition for how to use the pens to create the decorative images just a suggestion that we use greaseproof paper at home to trace the artwork.
No paper towel to dry paint brushes, I had to get it from the toilet myself . Absolutely no way the project would have been finished in 2hrs, I understand this was in the description. I just wonder how Hobbycraft thought wet paint would be transported. I am a seasoned crafter so knew to spread the paint thinly.

A fun hour with a very good teacher. Equipment package good with everything included. Venue let’s it down as cramped and workshop table in the aisle and people trying to move around to view products on shelves. Also the washing facilities not ideal as through a store area which was cramped.

I was lucky enough to have Abbie all to myself (sorry if I have mis-remembered her name). I bought a sewing machine from you just before the first lockdown and put it in a cupboard. Then my daughter mentioned recently that you do workshops and tutorials. So I booked one. Abbie (again apologies if this is the wrong name) was clear, friendly and polite. She explained about options for additional workshops. She showed me how to wind and insert the bobbin, about thread tension and threading the upper thread, raising the bobbin thread and she then demonstrated forward/backstitch and different stitch patterns using a template printed on fabric before I had a turn. For some bizarre reason I was nervous but it was good fun. Since returning home with some spare fabric templates I have spent the afternoon setting my machine up and practicing with it. I am really pleased that I booked this workshop!

My daughter (aged 9) and I attended the Halloween clay model making workshop. The clay was provided. The teacher was very nice and funny, and encouraged the children's own ideas. We made several models (bats, cats, ghosts, pumpkins, etc.) which we were able to take home. My daughter said her favourite thing about the day was that the teacher didn't tell them what they could or couldn't make.

Really fun time spent decorating the pumpkins with the kids. The lady running the class was fab and great with the kids while they were decorating. Everything we needed was to hand and it was a nice relaxed hour while the kids decorated the pumpkins

The children (5 & 8) enjoyed making the spiders (as did us adults). The materials were great to work withGood practice for the children threading beads and hand-eye coordination. My 8 year old really enjoyed his air drying clay session with Donna at the West Worthing store today. Donna was very kind and welcoming, explaining everything required. The materials were supplied with plenty of colour options so that my some could use his own imagination. His creations are in pride of place in the lounge. He is really looking forward to the next session.

My daughters friend was unable to join us today so the lovely Louise said I could join in instead she showed us how to pick up the paper on the end of the brush so that we didn’t get glue everywhere where which was really helpful. We both had a fantastic time and plan to buy more to do at a later date!

We had a lesson with Abbey & she was an amazing teacher. Very patient (with my son who has additional needs) & knowledgeable. We both felt confident to use a sewing machine by the end, so much so that we bought one!
Venue is easy to get to and has plenty of accessible, free parking.
Great value for money all round. Would thoroughly recommend.

We had a great 1:1 sewing machine workshop with Abbie, who was very clear in her explanation to my daughter. She was patient and thorough. She also tailored the session to our individual interest in free embroidery demonstrating clearly. The sewing machine driver licence' practise pieces were fantastic for a beginner and fun for a child. We will definitely book again for a more advanced course. Thankyou Abbie!

Amazing the kid's loved as i did it as a surprise for them,the lady that took the class was lovely and interactived with my children,it was good value for money,the only thing i would suggest is that there was some chairs for the parents to sit on as there was only chairs for the kid's i ended up sitting on the floor other then that the kid's had a good time so thank you and will be looking out for more workshops because spending £5 per child was well worth seeing there faces xx

The lady who ran the workshop was lovely. I was a little disappointed with the value. For £5 my son squashed 4 dinosaurs in some coloured air dry clay. We had to give the dinosaurs back at the end of the session. It entertained him for 10 minutes!

The craft pack was great, and the instruction and guidence was excellent. Although I got the gist of it ok, an hour was not long enough really and I would have liked more time to be shown other techniques.
Unfortuntately we had a couple of small interuptions from other customers which didnt help, so maybe a separate area for classes might be nice.

The 2 boys had a fantastic time at West Worthing Hobbycraft at their sea creature clay modelling workshop.
Donna was fantastic with lots of ideas and there was no shortage of supply on any of the air drying clay provided in variable colours. The kids were able to make several models in the session rather than this being limited to one.
Really enjoyable, fully recommended for £5. Good value for money and a keepsake to take home.

The actual craft was great. Only took my daughter 30mins to do.
Only downside was I booked 2 spaces and I couldn't get a refund for 1 sick child space or take the craft home for them to do which was really disspointing and £5 gone

The teacher was friendly and very helpful. it was a most enjoyable experience, didn't matter how much mess we made , it was all cleared away without any fuss.
The kit contained everything we needed , even plastic gloves to help keep us clean, very generous size kit. We were well looked after by our teacher , she even worked out how we could get our paintings home without getting runny paint in the car and loaded all our stuff on a trolley and pushed it to the door for us. thank you very much. from Helen(aged77) so never too old to learn and have fun.

Unfortunately the Hobbycraft Silver overlocker was not able to do one of the stitches I needed without an additional foot, which despite Abby's searching, seems is not available. Thank you to our Teacher, who was very patient and very clear with her instructions. I did not complete my hanging in class but was able to finish at home, my tensions are not good, but I am sure I will perfect them with practice. Abbie is natural teacher, who explained everything thing clearly. I came with idea for making a reversible skirt. She talked me through what I would need to do in terms of creating a pattern based upon a skirt that I liked. She discussed fabric & thread types with me.
She also gave handy tips about using my machine. What I liked the most was that Abbie understood what I wanted to achieve and was able to break the task down into small sections to help me.
The experience is excellent value for money. The session lasted an hour at West Worthing store.
Great experience. Looking forward to seeing Abbie again, with my newly created skirt.

I took part in the crochet bunting class with my Mum and we both really enjoyed it. Our instructor, Katie, at the Worthing branch of Hobbycraft was really good at explaining what to do and was very patient when we went wrong. The kit we were given was great and we will be able to make a lot of bunting with the 5 balls of wool provided. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone interested in crochet.

I had my class with Abbie at the Worthing store and it was amazing. I have had my sewing machine for a while but have really struggled to get to grips with it.
Abbie patiently taught me how to wind a bobbin and thread the machine. She then gave me some material with patterns printed to practice the basic stitches, backstitching, curves and straight lines. When we finished she gave me some extra pieces to take home and practice on.
I feel so much more confident with my machine now and can’t wait to get it out and put into practice all Abbie taught me.

Was within the shop whilst open to general public so we did get interrupted by other customers asking where things were etc. We could of done with being in say a corner of the room with a screen or some so people would know not to interrupted. On the whole it was excellent, very polite instructor and very patient with myself.

Kerry our teacher was fantastic, so knowledgeable, welcoming, friendly and clear with instructions.
The set up was good, clean and a variety of equipment and materials to use.
I learnt how to use the software and cricut correctly with different techniques. Including design, cutting, weeding and transfer.
I got all the information I required, while having a great time thanks to kerry. I feel confident to replicate the process at home.

I wanted to buy a new sewing machine as old one died after 50years so had a session to try out a couple of machines unfortunately Gemma was unfamiliar with either machines but she was extremely helpful and between the pair of us all my questions were answered. She even went to the trouble of looking things up online. She did give me the opportunity to change the day and have a member of staff who was more familiar with my chosen machines. I think the fabric provided is very flimsy and would have preferred a thicker fabric. Worthing hobby craft is a lovely shop and in a perfect location with free parking.

Very good demonstration. If I could afford a cricut mug press I would certainly buy one, so I could make and sell. The lady who was taking the workshop was brilliant, she is very knowledgeable and I was asking questions about other machines such as the cricut maker too, as it was also used in the workshop. Would love to go back and another workshop such as how to use the cricut maker.

This one to one tutorial was on getting me started in design space with my Cricut Air 2. Mel helped me and she was worth every penny! Her voice was clear and her instructions precise. For a complete novice to crochet, the pattern was far to complicated, it needs a starter class to show stitches and then perhaps this class once the art has been mastered. The lady who took the class was very patient and tried very hard to teach us in a short time.

MEL was brilliant again! She went over everything in great detail explained everything clearly and showed us both pre planned designs and how to design your own. The biggest thing I would say to hobby craft as a company is they need to improve their Internet connections in store if they are putting on these workshops! This is the second one I have done and the internet has been the only issue each time and it is very frustrating for the demonstrator who do a great job.

Happy with the class - the instructor was friendly and I liked the small class size. I am happy with the end result so I would say it was worthwhile. The only criticism would be that we were tight for space and I felt at times like we were in the way as the table was located in the middle of the shop floor aisle.

Trainer was good and adequately covered off all the points for which we required guidance. Improvement should be made to the training environment e.g. stools to sit on (rather than having to stand for an hour); use of a screened off area in the store (rather than being distracted by passing customers). Overall good value for money.

The class was good for a beginner e.g. how to thread the machine and load a bobbin. We were given fabric with outlines of shapes which we followed while practising with different types of stitches.

The one to one sewing workshop was really useful and I learnt a lot. Donna was very friendly and knowledgeable. I did find it a bit disconcerting sitting at a table right in the middle of the store with shoppers milling around and presumably listening in! I thought the workshop was good value and would definitely recommend it, particularly to anyone wanting to find their way round a new sewing machine.

Great value for money. There was a lot of information to take in, think I benefitted more as I already had some idea about how to navigate Design Space.
Teacher was lovely and was able to answer most questions.
It would have been helpful to have had some Worksop notes to take away at the end as there is a lot of content to remember, and if you are taking notes you can’t see what the teacher is doing.
Definitely recommend though.

Kerry was a lovely teacher, we sat and done crafting in the store and because Kerry was so engaging didn’t notice that there were shoppers around us.
She introduced us to the posca pens which we will find useful when doing cards at home, and also using pinking shears
Crafting box was very good and nicely presented, managed to make 2 cards, with ideas which Kerry helped with.

Katherine was my teacher for the 1:1 session. She was friendly, made me feel welcome & answered all of my questions.
The class was value for money. We covered all of the points I wanted to (having sent the information in the pre workshop email). This made for a more personal session. I came away with printed instructions that had been prepared for me before the session which will be useful.
There was an initial issue with the iPad that Katherine used however, once she changed it for her laptop things improved (although the WiFi was quite slow). Personally, it was much better using the laptop as it is the set up I use at home so it was easier to follow what I was being shown.
It was an informative hour. I would definitely do it again & recommend the workshop to others.

Theresa was lovely, identified the problem I was having with thread breaking even though she was unfamiliar with my machine, gave me back my confidence in sewing even though I am a beginner. I went home and managed to shorten a pair of trousers, not perfect by any means but an achievement for me! Will be booking other sessions.
