Throughout the year, Hobbycraft host a variety of workshops in stores and online, designed to give everyone the opportunity to master a new craft or refine a long-time favourite. Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.
Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

What a great class. Helen is a brilliant teacher, reassuring, patient and able to explain and demonstrate really well. Learnt how to cast on and 2 crochet stitches. The materials provided were excellent and the written notes will be useful for practice at home. The class is very good value for money. Venue is quite comfortable and the small class size makes for a good “teacher/pupil” ratio. Plenty of opportunity to ask questions and be shown techniques.

LITTLE HEADS UP FOR PARENTS:
I have been a mum for nearly 16 years and only just learnt that your nearest hobby craft does craft sessions for peanuts!
Me and my daughter did a dry clay class today and it cost £4!Would cost more than that to buy the clay set to begin with and bonus, doing it here means no mess at home!.
Just a little tip for something lovely to do with the little ones that doesn’t break the bank in the holidays.

My Granddaughter felt the teacher was very good. I felt she concentrated on only a couple of the children not all, unless asked.
It was good value for money, due to materials provided.

We had a lovely hour painting canvases for my little girls 3rd birthday. It was a really relaxed session with everything provided and all the staff were lovely. It’s great to have a dedicated main area away from the main shop to do such workshops. We had a great time and will be back!

My daughter (age 6) thoroughly enjoyed the class and was able to do all of the crafting to make the Easter bonnet. Highly recommend and worth it for the materials you get to choose from.

Kelly was so great, really enthusiastic and made the session so fun. This was my daughter's first workshop and she really enjoyed it. There was no pressure to rush or stick to the exact design as my daughter wanted to make it slightly different.

Just had a fabulous time drawing Christmas designs, with POSCA pens, onto craft bags and tags. Tutor Helen had some great ideas, which I will be trying at home.
I loved my hobbycraft workshop tote bag and all the materials needed to do the workshop with lots to take home.
My hour went by so quickly, but I have received all the information needed to
carry on at home and all my Christmas gifts will be wrapped up with style. Thank you, good workshop, great price.

The girls had a great time today, the staff member teaching then was really nice and helped as much as possible. The activity needs to be an hour long though as it took 25 minutes just to make Santa meaning they had to rush Rudolph.

The teacher was really nice, friendly and helpful. The venue was good, there was only myself doing the activity. I liked the materials, but I didn’t really have to do much, although I would have liked a little more time to actually make a wreath rather than use a ready made wreath to glue things on. The overall outcome was nice.

The session was just amazing. The teacher had a lot of patience and made sure everyone understood the techniques. I'd recommend this class for beginners who want to start off their crocheting hobby. All the materials were provided & I found the written material great!

Really fab kids class making Windchimes. Had plenty of resources to use and ended up with a really great end product. My little man had lots of fun doing it! I didn’t get the lady’s name that ran the workshop but she was great, so lovely and couldn’t do enough for us! She told me it was her first workshop and I think she did a fab job!

Hi my acrylic pouring class with Hannah was brilliant. Hannah was an amazing teacher and very easy to understand. I am hopeless at art but came away thinking wow I can do it! The materials provided were excellent and included everything you needed. I particularly liked the blown effect and can’t wait to get started at home. Many thanks to Hannah and Hobbycraft. My daughter did the rainbow workshop at the Warrington store. She found the threading easy enough to do however when it comes to getting it to stand with the clay it was hit and miss. Caroline did the workshop she was very friendly and was trying to make lots of conversation with my daughter to make her feel comfortable. The workshop area had been moved to the store floor which I didn't think worked very well and preferred the previous private room.

Complete beginner, had tried watching some you tube videos a few months ago but didn't get anywhere at all, so booked Onto a face to face class. Managed to master dc stitch and the tr stitch and changing yarn colour, so feel more confident in attempting an actual project now. THANKYOU :)

Hannah who ran the Acrylic paint pouring workshop was brilliant, very friendly and helpful. The venue was great and all materials were provided and any remaining paint you can bring home. Great value for money. I have never done this before, so I learned a lot and will put it into practice at home. It has given me confidence to have a go on my own. I enjoy every minute.

Booked for my 4 year old. She loved the class. The teacher was very good & explained it very well. Materials provided were great and although my daughter needed some help making the shapes she was able to do it. Nat was so enthusiastic! Arlo loved it although being a toddler he got very distracted after a while! The choice of bonnets was good and the materials supplied were lovely. Great value for money I think!

Beginners guide to crochet was fantastic! There were just 2 of us and we learned the basic stitches quickly. The teacher was lovely and patient and good humoured as was another crocheting member of staff who kept checking in in us. Totally lovely and enthusiastic staff and my friend and I had the quickest 90 mins ever and there’s no stopping us now! Highly recommended x

Highly recommend this course! The teacher was lovely and very welcoming :) she came round and gave us 1:1 tutorials when needed. Everything was explained thoroughly and I am now beginning to crochet a blanket.

Our teacher was Natalie she was very friendly, possative and made us feel relaxed and comfortable.It was just us on the workshop so we managed to get 3 keyrings made. My daughter who is 10 found it a little tricky/fiddly at first but got the hang of it. There was lots of resources to choose from. It was very enjoyable activity.

It was a really smoothly run workshop: materials were organised in individual boxes and ready set out on arrival. Nicola the leader was obviously talented and explained what to do well. The only issue I'd say was that instructions weren't printed out and given to participants to follow if they wanted. That said, individual choice on how to do the advent calendar was positively encouraged so I do feel I have a calendar that reflects my personality, not one that is just a copy of someone else's. That's the sign of a good workshop: enough guidance to get going and then the freedom to express oneself. Thank you, Nicola.

Really enjoyable workshop. The teacher was so pleasant, helpful and encouraging. We practiced all the letters in brush lettering style as well as joining them in words. We have the basics we need to practice and become able to use brush lettering for our projects in the future.

Nat was a fabulous teacher. She talked through each step and waited until everyone had completed the step. She helped support my child (I had 2 small children to help). The soft air drying clay was lovely to work with and the children loved the texture and colours available. We were able to use as much as we liked. It was great value with what we took away and I couldn’t believe it was free! Will be back again!

The teacher was lovely and very patient. She helped through each stage and was very supportive when I made mistakes. I thought the course was good value for money, you got two rolls of yarn and a crochet hook to take home. I would recommend this for anyone interested in learning to crochet, it was very enjoyable.

We were lucky to have a nice group of similar aged children. Nicola was friendly and gave the children advise and helpful tips throughout the activity. There was lots of paints to choose from and plenty of sponges and brushes. We will definitely be attending future workshops.

First time going to a workshop with my 10 year old daughter. My daughter had a great time and made the large octopus and starfish whilst there. We then bought more clay so she could make the hermit crab and baby octopus when we got home. We had Hannah to teach us who was lovely. She was friendly, helpful and very possative with the children. We will definitely book more workshops in the future.

Anita was incredible - I had no idea how a sewing machine worked and I felt daunted by how many steps there were to get going - but as soon as she sat me down I knew I was in good hands. She took me through the set up steps until I got it on my own and showed me two machines - I ended up buying one and I'm in love Super helpful also she reminded me that I could call or come back and ask for help any time. We are so lucky to have a hobby craft with such fabulous staff so close to home. I got home, got my fabulous new sewing machine up and running and started making - I'm not very good yet but I'm loving it! Please find below the bag I made

I really enjoyed tonight's class.
Helen made me feel at ease immediately and, although guiding the class with best practice techniques, gave each of us the opportunity to experiment a little so that we could find what worked best for us as individuals.
I picked up some top tips (and some lovely metallic brush pens) to help me along my journey to becoming a fully fledged calligrapher.

I enjoyed the Christmas cloche workshop. The tutor was welcoming and demonstrated the assembly of the cloche very well. The room was quiet and big enough to hold a workshop of 5-6 people. Workspace was free from clutter and big enough to work on. The workshop provided a box with all the things required for making 2 cloches and I found it to be reasonable value for money. I actually decided to add colour to my cloches after I got home. My own preference.
