Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

My adult daughters and myself booked for this workshop as a treat. The teacher was patient and always on hand to assist when we got into knots (literally). We were given a crochet hook, X2 balls of wool, an instruction leaflet, and a Calico bag to keep everything safe. We learnt how to create a chain, how to turn the will and crochet double stitch, and treble stitch. We were also told that I'd we encountered problems when at home we can come back to the store and ask for help and advice.

I attended the Beginners guide to Brush Lettering at Lincoln Hobbycraft. My teacher, Ru, was brilliant, very knowledgeable in this area! She went at my pace and really broke everything down for me. She was very positive and praised my efforts at each stage.

The materials supplied were of high quality, great that I got to keep them too! :) The session was excellent value for money and I will definitely look to see what other workshops are available. Highly recommend!

Gemma, was great explained everything and answered all my questions, the class was well worth the money. Learnt that using card and vinyl are very similar and practice on card. I loved the whole class and the hour flew buy. Was nice to have someone so helpful and knowledgeable to help me.

What an amazing experience This is the first time I have taken my daughter (and her friend) to a session. We chose the Easter bonnet making.
She absolutely loved it. Juliet was so patient with our girls and fully supported their (questionable) creativity. The materials were fab and really suitable for the class.
It was such good value for money, we had a full hour to create their masterpieces.
Will definitely book more classes in the future.

We chose a beginners class in crocheting at Hobbycraft, Lincoln. We are a group of four friends and booked the class as part of a celebration for one of our groups 60th birthday.
We knew it was something she wanted to learn in her retirement.
Our teacher was really good, very informative, friendly and patient especially with the ones who struggled a little. We learnt to cast on, and two types of crochet stitches. We were given 2 balls of lovely wool with a choice of colours and a crochet hook. We were sat at a table actually in the store but we didn’t feel uncomfortable as we were too busy concentrating to notice shoppers around us. We felt the class was good value and we all really enjoyed it. We were able to take our work and wool home in a little tote bag.

Jilly was quite good, however, things seemed a bit rushed and the children didn't really get a great experience as they felt they had to go faster due to time constraints. More time would improve things, if people are willing to pay a bit extra it would improve things greatly.

Thank you for this workshop. As a complete beginner I have looked at videos and books, but they didn’t really make sense. Thanks to a very patient tutor, I was able to understand the chain stitch, then double and triple stitches.
We were given two balls of yarn plus a crochet hook in a useful linen tote bag. Printed instructions were also provided. All of these we could take away, so the cost of the course was very good value for money.
I would thoroughly recommend this for any crochet beginners.

This was not a private class as we expected, constantly interrupted as the class was in the middle of the shop. Teaching skills were lacking however no doubt she was knowledgeable, but was unable to effectively communicate her knowledge to us.
We were booked for one and half hours but the class was wrapped up bang on the hour even though we started late and should have had another 30mins. We were so excited to do the class but have not left feeling we can do anything other than a chain. Would not book again or recommend this to family of friends.

Maddie was a great teacher, very patient with us all and showed us step by step how to crochet. All materials were provided so definite value for money. Only downside was that the workshop was set on a table in the middle of the store, and in the busy December period it wasn't ideal as we got interrupted a lot by customers. Saying that, I would go to another workshop as I really enjoyed it and have been crocheting since!

Juliet was very welcoming and a lovely teacher, giving us lots of tips and encouragement. At the start of the class, we were offered a drink and given a tote bag of tags, card and gift bags to use and take away with us at the end of the class. We were shown ideas and practised first, before we felt confident to try them on the bags. We all enjoyed using the different Posca pens which were easy to use and gave great results. The hour went very quickly and was thoroughly enjoyable, chatting and drawing. I would definitely recommend the class and Juliet as a teacher.

The workshop was very good. Started on time. I felt a little rushed towards the end, but that was probably because my glue gun didn’t work and the tutor had to fetch another. I would say the table wasn’t big enough to work comfortably with 5 wreaths plus the tutor.
However, the kits were sufficient to introduce the method, and there’s enough flexibility to add more items if desired. (I’m adding battery fairy lights to mine!)

Ru, the lady taking the class, was lovely, covered everything, helped loads and was careful to cover the health and safety aspects. The materials were all provided and easy to use, my ten year old also took part with no problems. The only gripe I have is that there wasn't a lot of room around us as we were in the middle of shop.

My one hour paint pouring class at Hobbycraft Lincoln was everything I'd hoped for and I could easily have enjoyed another hour - or two.

I arrive a little early and was taken to the work room by a member of staff to meet Rugile who first offered me a coffee and then guided me through my introduction to this fascinating art. I didn't realise until the end that the kit I was using was then mine to keep so I figure that the hour with Rugile, the facilities (and the coffee) actually cost me less than £5! The kit had everything I would need for the session with plenty to bring home and continue with my learning.

Rugile was an excellent and patient teacher, nothing was rushed and everything explained clearly. She obviously loved teaching and was keen to make sure all my questions were answered. The four pieces af art work which I produced were very impressive and I was amazed how easy the whole process was. Rugile gave me pointers on how to progress and reminded me to return in a few days time to collect my pieces once they were dry. Oh yes, I'll be back.

My sincere thanks to Rugile and all the staff at Lincoln Hobbycraft. Highly recommended.

My 10 year old daughter wanted to learn how to crochet, I had never even held a crochet hook so was unable to help her. Together we took the beginners guide to crochet class, and have come away with the basic skills we both needed to get going.
We were provided with two balls of wool, a stainless steel crochet hook and had the undivided attention of our tutor, whom was absolutely brilliant, friendly, and helpful. We even asked if there is a class for the next stage!
All in all it was a fantastic class and we are both so pleased we attended, our tutor explained everything so well and in simple terms so we could understand, if you are wanting to get started with crochet but struggling, this class is a must

Great beginners crotchet class! Small group setting so we all had one to one when needed and our teacher was so patient!
Two big chunky balls of wool and a crotchet hook were included which we got to keep and printed instructions so we can carry on at home.

Very friendly tutor with lots of experience. We used a Hobbycraft sewing machine to explore button hole making. After discussion, we used my own machine to explore my difficulty in this task at home and discovered that it was a problem with the machine. So we explored button hole making without an automatic machine programme. Very pleased with the experience. Big shout out for my tutor who was delightful.

Tabby was a great teacher and very knowledgable, she ensured I had the machines I was interested in set up ready for practice and showed me in detail how to set them up and get going. I had a go with all the different features and even made a little drawstring bag to take home with me. I mentioned I would like to take up dressmaking and Tabby recommended a couple of the other girls who are more knowledgable on the topic should I ever want to book another class to help on this area. Overall great value for money and I would definitely recommend to anyone who is starting out

Edith was incredible showing me how to use a sewing machine, the first machine was a basic one but after going over what I was wanting to learn Edith went out of her way to get me a better machine which resulted in me buying my first ever sewing machine, I am super happy and excited to use this after bring this home with me.

Took my daughter today to the easter sign class. She thoroughly enjoyed it. The lady who ran the class called Jilly was fabulous, she was friendly, gave the kids lots of help and ideas and was really chatty with them. There were lots of pens, stickers, gems etc for them to use, they were spoilt for choice. Overall a great class, will definately book my daughter in again for another workshop.

As a bare basic starter with a sewing machine this was a totally relaxed and patient one-on-one. I’d highly recommend taking this if you’re nervous and just want to give a sewing machine class a go with little or no experience. I also know that if I had a project I was working on adequate advice and guidance would have been given too, as the instructor was very well versed in all things sewing machine and fabric craft. One of the most useful things to me was also the advice and information I was given about which sewing machine would be ideal for me, my needs and future projects I am interested in making.

Really good and enjoyable and nice lady but the size of the hat provided was way too big for my 4 year old, it won’t even stay on so pointless as she couldn’t wear it, and afterwards I noticed that there were small pink bonnets on the shelf for £1 that could have easily been used for her instead. Really disappointed as she wanted to wear the bonnet she had made on holiday

Hayley was lovely, calm and patient ! Picked up all the basics easily. She explained well and the demos were great to follow.
Would recommend as a starter to crotchet - having done absolutely nothing before, my photo shows my improvement up each row all in 90 mins, and Hayley made us a drink. Was really pleased with the box we got to take home, with a crotchet hook, and yarn.

Hayley was a fab teacher, knowledgable, encouraging gave clear instructions. Good quality materials with plenty left to finish more projects at home. Very personable as well as willing to repeat instructions. Told us that further techniques could be found on the you tube channel.
Only criticism was space to work. I think the session was better than being held in shop but slightly crammed.
Hayley offered to keep the pictures to dry and I could collect in the week. I really appreciated this as it meant work won’t get spoiled.
A brief fact sheet would be useful as I’d forgotten to take a pen and paper - just as a reminder

I really enjoyed this class! The tutor was lovely and very patient, especially as I'm left handed. The wool in the kit was lovely quality and easy to use. The class was held on the shop floor and was interupred a few times by people asking questions either about the class or where items were in store. I'm glad I took an in-store class rather than online as I had a lot of questions and it's easier to have an answer demonstrated to me in person. Now i need to practice, A LOT

The class was interesting, and as it was a fact finding venture, fulfilled that. The lady who led it, was standing in for a colleague who was off sick, however despite not having a lot of experience, was able to demonstrate proficiently. The area of demonstration wasn't totally great, stood around the stand with the machines. It would have been good to have been sat around a table. The choice of free gift (used in the demonstration) was good. Value of the course was reasonable and the member of staff reassured me if I had any further questions or needed any more assistance they would be happy to do so.

I was very happy to be gifted this workshop on ceramic marbling and excited to get started as it's something I'd never done before. We were in a nice quiet office with only four of us plus our tutor Jilly. Jilly was a fantastic teacher and in that environment she was able to give us all her attention. Her tutoring was done at a level that was easy to understand and aimed at the beginner level but not condescending. She was happy to assist any of us that needed help and waited for us all to finish each step before moving on to different methods. Jilly was very good at making people feel at ease and easy to talk to. She was happy to help when anyone needed it and I give her full marks for her teaching method.
Overall the kit we received and the tutoring was good value for money and even enough ink left to take home and play with later. The store had a good selection of ceramics and I bought extra to do some more Xmas decorations at home.
This was an experience I would highly recommend and with Jilly at the helm I can give full marks for the whole session. I only wish I could give Jilly extra marks for making the whole experience fun.

Jilly was a brilliant teacher for the ceramic marbling workshop. She made sure that everyone understood each step and why we were doing certain things. We had plenty of ceramics to marble. The session was held off the shop floor which was great because it meant Jilly could focus on just us and not worry about any interruptions. I've left this session understanding why the liquid was made up in advance to the workshop beginning, and we even tried it with fresh liquid just to see the difference it made. If I could score higher than 5* I would. Thanks Jilly for a brilliant experience

I throughly enjoyed my crochet pumpkin workshop at Hobbycraft Lincoln. The member of staff, Hayley, was friendly and patient and demonstrated the steps in making my pumpkin in an easy to understand manner. The colours of the yarns provided were beautiful. My box was missing the instructions, however Hayley soon organised a copy for me. Wonderful workshop thank you. And I look forward to completing my pumpkins at home.

Teacher was friendly remembering all the kids names. Very informative and easy to follow instructions. Was very accommodating as I had gained an extra child last minute and unable to book on website as to short notice. One phone call to the store and they accommodated for the extra child. The girls all had a great time. Will be back to visit again soon

I went to the workshop to learn about the Cricut machine and found the information very helpful , Hayley was very good at explaining things but I wish that it was a bit longer as it’s a lot to take in when you are new the the machine . I am going to use mine to make cards with. I first have to buy the basic things to get started and this I think should all be in with the machine to get you started.
But thankyou Hayley I no I can come to you for advice if I need it .

An introduction to cricut. Here the customer chooses an image and the colour of the image from the small selection on offer, but black wasn't an option. The staff tell you what the process involves as they carry it out step by step, to produce your cricut bag. I would have preferred to have had a go myself, but of course it would have taken much longer and unjustifiable for the cost of the session. There are one-to-one cricut sessions for those who feel they may need more attention, although there were only two in our group. Gemma, the circut tutor was knowledgeable and approachable. I enjoyed the session.

We have really enjoyed learning brush lettering today. Our teacher was really friendly and helpful and offered loads of extra tips. Our pack included loads more than I expected. The pens were really good to use. It's surprising what you can learn in an hour!

Teacher was very patient, encouraging and kind with my 8 year old daughter who was having the lesson. She taught her how to use the different stitches that the sewing machine can do, how to stitch a button hole and how to do a blind hem. The course was very good value for money and my daughter felt confident after this lesson to go home and practice what she had learned on her machine.

Kerry is very knowledgeable and helpful.
I was asked to take my machine in for us to work on as it is a vintage Singer 603k.
Kerry went through the various functions and adjustments on the machine which was very helpful, I didn't realise the machine had so many functions.
Kerry helped me try various stitching / adjusting length, etc.
My session was in the Lincoln store, in the middle of the shop. I felt a bit uncomfortable with this but I was soon too busy working with Kerry to worry about people shopping around us.
I found the session extremely helpful, the machine was my late mum's and I hadn't used it since I was about 10 years old. Kerry helped me to remember how to feed the thread and adjust the tension, and to fill a bobbin.
The session was very good value for money.

My tutor was fantastic. My son bought me a cricut Maker for my birthday last year and I have been too scared to use it, mainly because it does so much and I found it over whelming. But the young lady today explained how to use it in a way I could understand. Very clear and concise. Thanks for opening up the world of cricut. I will most certainly be having another teaching session.

The trainer was very patient and had great modelling skills. Refreshments or some screening from the rest of the shop would have been appreciated. It would also have saved a lot of time if the yarn was pre-cut- this took a long time to do at the start and contributed to the fact that no one finished the project during the workshop.

My class ended up being a one to one session with the lovely Hayley. She was a very patient and encouraging teacher who clearly explained each stitch giving me enough space to learn but making sure I was on track. The workshop happened on the shop floor which initially felt a little daunting, but I found I was so caught up in what I was doing that people shopping around me didn't make any difference. The kit is really generous and there is plenty left over to put towards future projects. I ran out of time and didn't get my project finished and there were no written instructions in the kit. It would have been useful if there was a picture with suggested stitches on it.

The lady was absolutely lovely, I cannot fault her abilities in professionalism and customer service, however hobbiecraft should ensure the person's they are asigning to give these tutoials are experts in cricut if they are wanting to charge customers for this service and are able to compently use ALL features. I felt bad for the employer when she was unsure how to do things I was asking (she still tried her absolute best). I feel I would have learnt more from watching YouTube tutorials for free. Also if you are unable to use all features from a tablet why aren't computers used? Or you advising customers to bring their laptops with them? I did walk away disappointed I was expecting more(I want to stress again that the lady was absolutely lovely and tried her best I see it as a fault with the company by not equipping her with better training to carry out these classes)

My 6 year old daughter had the most amazing time She was shown how to start with the lighter colours and some colour theory was thrown in which she loved.

I was unbelievably surprised by her beautiful creation. It was so neat and beautiful - she does love painting but usually it’s a bit more abstract (a mess). This was controlled and lovely.

I feel the colleagues in store went above and beyond with her and were so calm and amazing even when she was getting a little over excited. Amazing.

My 6-year-old granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed this Christmas card making, painting of wooden Christmas tree decorations, and painting a Santa plaster statue, under the friendly guidance of Hayley, who managed the workshop. As a one-to-one, one-hour long workshop, it is extremely good value for money at £15, especially as the participant gets to take home a large box, containing all the materials used in the workshop!

Holly was brilliant and patient with me. Have had a cricut for a year and not been very good with it. She demonstrated were I was going wrong. One of the things was using wrong materials. It looks so easy now I know. Looking forward to doing it properly now.

Loved the course and the box of materials was great. Well packaged and lots to practise on once home. Kerry was very friendly and helpful. Could ask her anything for help. At first was abit self aware being in the middle of the store but soon settled into it. Could of kept crafting all day. Would be fab idea to have a room for an hour or so after to practise while skills fresh in head.

I spent a fantastic hour making some beautiful clay star Christmas decorations. Kerry our teacher was lovely, so kind and patient. She gave us some fabulous tips of what we could use to make imprints on our clay shapes like leaves and after the workshop Kerry helped me to find some more cutters and some gold spray paint to carry out creating at home. The kits that you get for the workshop are brilliant and well worth the money and you get to take them home. I also made a new friend and we are planning to come to another hobbycraft workshop in December. Brilliant way to spend a Sunday morning

The Christmas Clay Star class was lots of fun! Hayley was very helpful and had lots of ideas to help us develop our skills. The kit contained everything we needed to get us started and the 1kg pack of clay was more than enough, I barely used a quarter of the pack.

The teacher was friendly, encouraging and extremely helpful and accommodating. the example cards were inspiring and the projects well planned. Venue was good, the open nature of the location resulted in customers approaching the leader for advice and help with their purchases but these were handled well and didn’t cause any interruptions to our workshop. The materials were well thought out and the presentation in the tissue wrapped box made them extra special.

This was a great class using infusible ink sheets and pens on a cloth bag, that I could keep. The teacher Gemma was lovely and I enjoyed spending the time with her. The class was one on one and I was able to ask lots of questions. It was held at my local shop which was a great location for me.
I will definitely want to do more classes there.

I am a Complete beginner and learnt a lot from the class. My teacher Rugile was very friendly and knowledgeable, I was lucky to have her to myself and the there was no rush I learnt a lot from her and she encouraged me to do more than I thought I could. I came away with lots of ideas.

I had booked on the cricut course. Hollie was an excellent teacher and showed me things I had been struggling with. Materials were provided which was great. I had taken my own but didn’t need them. Hollie explained things so I understood. I thoroughly enjoyed my course today at Lincoln Hobbycraft which was for an hour. Well worth the money.
