  • 4/5 from Charlotte Jacklin, attended Apr 2026: Really great teacher, very patient and kind. Would recommend this class to people, only feedback would be the location doing it in the staff room felt a bit strange. But I guess better that than in the middle of the shop, as was quieter.
  • 5/5 from Karen Downing, attended Mar 2026: I am a very crafty person but I’ve never learned to crochet In the lesson I learned to cast on, two types of stitches, turning at the end of a row and finishing off. The tutor was great! She spent time with every learner, who were all at different levels. I will be back for more lessons!
  • 5/5 from Kate Roberts, attended Mar 2026: Pauline was lovely and a very patient teacher. We learnt 2 basis stitches, which was enough, an hour and a half went very quickly!
  • 5/5 from Sonia Newton, attended Feb 2026: Maddie was amazing I now can do a granny square. Course was well worth it you get two balls of wool bag and crochet hook highly recommend x
  • 5/5 from Ruth Challenor, attended Feb 2026: Maddie was so patient and helpful. We went through making a slip know to start, creating a chain, double and trebles and also managed to get onto making a Granny square. We got 2 balls of yarn, a crochet hook, printed instructions and a tote bag too! Really great value. Would have loved to stay for another couple of hours chatting with a cup of tea and growing my granny square! Would highly recommend this class for complete beginners like me
  • 5/5 from Jody Waddingham, attended Feb 2026: Really enjoyed our crochet for beginners class, really well organised. Madeline was a super teacher, really clear instructions, calm, supportive and patient.
  • 4/5 from Beverley Stark, attended Feb 2026: Beginners crochet The instructor was very good and very patient. I learned what I came to learn. The materials were excellent and we took them home for more practice. It’s a lovely idea and could flourish but needs a separate room of its own. Our instructor was too good to have to share a venue with the staff rest room
  • 5/5 from Claire Myers, attended Jan 2026: Had a wonderful time, three generations together. We went from absolute beginners to gaining huge enthusiasm and having the confidence to think about taking on a simple project, working towards the target (demigorgon) toy, for next Christmas. The lovely Pauline was a great teacher, very patient, demonstrated and explained everything well and answered all of our (many) questions. We can now; make a slip not, chain stitch, double and treble crochet, and finish off the end. All equipment was provided and I’m very proud of the lovely ship I made (admittedly it wasn’t intentional….but I’ll take it). My daughter carried on crocheting all the way home!!
  • 5/5 from Claire Hey, attended Jan 2026: The tuition and advice given on this course meant my confidence increased and I soon found marked improvement in my consistency and tension. Now I'm looking forward to creating my first projects.
  • 5/5 from Claire McWilliams, attended Jan 2026: Very patient and welcoming - knowledgable and helpful. Thank you!
  • 5/5 from Valerie, attended Jan 2026: We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and taken to be introduced to the person leading the workshop. Though in the staff room, it felt a very relaxed, fun atmosphere and the teacher,Pauline, was very clear and patient with her explanations. We started with the basics of crochet, the starting off, chain stitch, double and treble crochet stitches and then the finishing off. We were given time at every stage to practice the stitches and Pauline spent as much time with each individual as was needed. Afterwards Pauline escorted us onto the shop floor and explained the different wools and equipment for use in crochet. This was a lovely Christmas gift to me which included three generations...... so now the competitions begin
  • 5/5 from Sharon Franklin, attended Jan 2026: I attended a class on learning to crochet, which I highly recommend. I’m left handed, and was the only left handed one in the class. The lass (sorry I’ve forgotten her name) she definitely deserves a large alcoholic drink! I must have been a nightmare for her, although she never showed it. The lady gave me lots of encouragement I still need to practice a lot, the class was very helpful in learning the basics
  • 5/5 from Fiona Cashmore, attended Nov 2025: Our teacher was great, very patient and happy to repeat and instruct the 4 people in our group who were all new to crochet and all had our difficulties. We learned 2 basic stitches and had time to practice them with individual help when needed. I just have to keep practicing so I don't forget what to do. An excellent course, would definitely recommend.
  • 5/5 from Tina Bramley, attended Nov 2025: Fantastically patient teacher in a group of lovely ladies. Really enjoyed it and can’t wait to get practising.
  • 5/5 from Chris Green, attended Nov 2025: Real patient with me (as my hand didn’t want to work!) lovely small group Nice and easy to book online and great reminders The downside was that it was held right at the back of a store through the storage racking and in what appeared to be the staff locker room It was quite claustrophobic and any event of any issues. I’m not sure how we would’ve got out.
  • 5/5 from Margaret Barber, attended Oct 2025: Lovely afternoon with a very patient tutor and other total beginners. Supplied with quality yarn and crochet hook. Lots of individual attention which I desperately needed and very happy to have enough starter knowledge to go home and practice. Will definitely be going back to the next class when I’ve mastered these basics. Thank you very much.
  • 5/5 from Jayne Barr, attended Oct 2025: Excellent beginners class in crochet. Tutor was very helpful and patient. Pleased to learn some essential stitches. Also received some lovely items to bring home. Looking forward to carrying on crocheting.
  • 5/5 from Sally Hughes, attended Oct 2025: There were only four of us in the class so our teacher was able to provide individual attention and support. We all received wool, a hook, patterns and a bag. I was rubbish at crochet - my first attempt- but the teacher was full of encouragement and patience. She demonstrated a technique and then it was time for us to try it so we were able to get some hands on experience. The four people were of differing abilities and the teacher catered for all of them. Highly recommend for some in person coaching.
  • 5/5 from Amie Emmett, attended Oct 2025: Maddie was very helpful and encouraging. My 10 year old daughter had been crocheting for a few months but getting a bit frustrated with not really having any direction and mostly self taught. This workshop was perfect for her to develop her skills and get an understanding of what she’s actually doing. She really enjoyed it and found it beneficial. I did this as a complete beginner and I was pleased with the progress I made. Maddie was clear with the instructions and very helpful in explaining the steps. We both really enjoyed this going in to it with differing levels of skill and experience.
  • 4/5 from Nicola Thomas, attended Oct 2025: Enjoyable, teacher lovely and very experienced. I could have done with an extra half hour.

Would highly recommend
  • 5/5 from Kali Martinez, attended Apr 2025: The class was very useful and I found out I have been skipping one stitch and I hadn't noticed that before! It was just the 2 of us in the class with teacher tabby. Tabby was very patient with me as l was dreadful at crocheting but my daughter did brilliantly. We was in the staff room but weren't interrupted. 2 big balls of wool, a hook and instructions to take home were provided. The lesson went very quickly and we really enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely book again on another class.
  • 4/5 from Brian Stuck, attended Aug 2024: teacher very helpful. a bit cluttered inside an office. Yarn too thickto use easily and hook too big. Learn basic chain and double crotchet. No time for treble. Good value for money. Ability to crotchet.

  • 5/5 from Chloe Hassall, attended Jun 2024: The teacher was really lovely and patient and very helpful. It was nice the group was small and friendly. I felt the lesson could of been a little longer and it would be great if more were run once you had attended beginners. But I came away and practiced and was impressed how quickly I got the hang of it. Overall a lovely lesson.

We learnt how to create a chain, how to turn the will and crochet double stitch, and treble stitch.
