Throughout the year, Hobbycraft host a variety of workshops in stores and online, designed to give everyone the opportunity to master a new craft or refine a long-time favourite. Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

I wanted to learn how to Crochet. Sam was amazing So patient and easy to understand nothing was too much trouble. Lovely atmosphere I had 2 balls of wool, a Crochet hook, and a bag given to me fantastic value for money 1.5 hours, and the goodies for £22
I have now signed up to join a Crochet class on 2nd Wednesday of every month which I'm looking forward to.

Des the teacher was great and showed exactly what to do whilst being really approachable. Both 11 year olds enjoyed making stencils and printing. Materials all top quality. Good value for money overall. Probably best suited to the 7 to 10 age range.

I went with very limited knowledge of what the machine could do. The session was really helpful and informative, allowing me to decide which machine would be best for me with what I plan to make. Definitely recommend a workshop if you are unsure before buying anything.

We spent a lovely hour making an Easter Wreath, everything we needed was provided. Summer, our teacher, was very helpful giving us hints on how to use the Dried Flower kit to make great looking wreaths. Would recommend this Workshop, good value and great fun.

I attended a sewing workshop to learn how to sew a zip. Jess was very patient and delivered the workshop at a pace to fit my level of skill and understanding. There was technical issues with the sewing machine, but this was soon resolved and Jess made sure I had my full session. I now feel confident with how to insert a zip into my sewing projects.

I’ve just done a beginners course in Crotchet led by Sam (Imperial Park, Bristol). Sam was just brilliant - an excellent teacher who gave clear guidance and was helpful and patient. I was given my own hook and two yarns. I had no knowledge of crotchet before and can now do a double and treble crotchet and even a granny square! I can’t recommend Sam and this course enough!

Bought for my 12 year old daughter for a Christmas gift. I joined her for a small charge and it was well worth it. We both had a great time, got to choose two balls of wool each, had a crochet needle, printed out instructions and a cute bag to keep it all in. The teacher we had was the store general manager, she was fantastic, patient and very knowledgeable. We turned up not having a clue what to do and by the end we could do two different stitches and a magic circle. Definitely going to look into doing more craft workshops.

The class was enjoyed but didn’t add anything new that my daughter hadn’t tried before as she is keen on lettering and art. Not a complaint, there is only so much you can do with the subject.
The present was a gift and booking was confusing. We originally joined the waiting list for a class and had waited for ages, nothing said the voucher was for an individual lesson.

Nice table in the store with plenty of space.

Ceramic bauble marble teacher was okay, the course lasted 28 mins and was stretched to include gold paint another 5 minutes. Course should have been 1 hour Felt it was aimed at children not adults. We were given 1/2 pot acrylic gold paint and a pack of paint brushes. We had to leave the baubles overnight as they don’t dry in time and pick up next day. Live in Burnham on Sea so need to do more travelling tomorrow to pick them up this was not mentioned in the lesson plan. Value for money - not really!

Went to the wrong venue the first time but staff were lovely and rebooked it for us. Teacher was just lovely. Felt like she was a friend teaching us. Got the hang of basic stitches. Came home and practised and now feel like we are ready for more so we will be booking again. Many thanks. Has given us a new creative and mindful outlet.

Sommer was very friendly and enthusiastic. She let my daughter choose a fabric and we made a scrunchie. The venue is lovely, bright and with the music feels very cozy. Maybe just the fact that clients were passing by, make it a bit distracting. I would definitely book a workshop again.

My daughter had a crocheting lesson at the Bristol imperial park branch yesterday at 3 o clock the teacher was fantastic, especially with my daughter who is nervous and gets anxious with new people and situations , she was friendly, polite , knew what she was doing and talking about , she had a calm, positive manner , my daughter loved the session, now has a better understanding of how to crochet, she came home happy and excited to continue , it was worth the money , we got to take the crochet thread and needle home as well.

I attended the pen pot weaving workshop with my 7 year old son and 4 year old nephew. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. The lady hosting the workshop was friendly, helpful and I interacted with the children really well. There were plenty of materials provided and instructions were clear. My 8yo daughter and I really enjoyed todays bead rainbow workshop. Kim at Hobbycraft Imperial Park (Bristol) was lovely and we had a relaxed environment in which my daughter was left to do her own creative devices whilst being instructed on completing her make.

The kids really enjoyed there activity the ages ranged from 4 to 10. They all said they would like to go again. The staff were friendly and easy to work with, there is a toilet on site to use. They only thing I would say is that it would be good to have a extra something small to decorate or some paper alongside whatever activity you’re doing just to pass the time provided by the store, if and when some of the children are finishing their craft designs so that the children don’t start to wonder and get bored.

My experience wasn’t the same as the 5 star reviews. Just one set of instructions left on the table and there wasn’t any real guidance except telling us the clay dries quickly. The children just got on with making whatever they wanted. They thought it was ok, so gave it 3 stars.

Coral was brilliant. Very knowledgeable. Her time management was fantastic, making sure we covered everything I asked for. I am autistic and can be pretty 'full on' when I am anxious doing something new but her manor and personality were so engaging, patient and calming. I learnt so much and gained loads more confidence in machine sewing.

I would massively recommend any beginner to have training at HobbyCraft to improve their knowledge and experience.

She was very patient and went over certain aspects several times.

Booked a one to one for my 5 year old daughter for her birthday.
We were very late but they accommodated us which I give them 5 stars for but rating the session itself… it was ok. It took a very long time to set the machine and didn’t learn anything new. My daughter only got to sew literally 4 practice rows. I took her home and taught her to make a simple tote bag…

We've just come back from an amazing Christmasy hour from the Hobbycraft in Hartcliffe,Bristol.
Our instructor was called Enya and she was an absolute gem! She was engaging with my 4 children and giving them loads of encouragement! Her instructions were easy to follow. There were lots of different materials so everyone of the kids made different colours from eachother. Definitely will be booking again :)

What was the teacher like? There were 2 teachers who were extremely knowledgeable and patient with their explanations for beginners.

How was the venue (if applicable)? Easy to park and there was a quiet corner in the back of the store for the small group of us to sit round a table.

If materials were provided, did you like them? The materials were top quality and the chunky wool was easy to crochet with.

Was the experience good value for money? Time just flew by and I couldn't believe it when it came to the end of the session. Extremely good value.

What did you do / learn? We learnt the basics of how to start crocheting with chains and then went on to do double stitch and treble stitch.

What did you like most? I had previously done a Hobbycraft course online but I definitely prefer to do the class in store. It's easier to ask questions and get one-to-one help. I am not sure how this would work online. So for me the best thing was the instore class as opposed to online.

My Daughter had a lovely time today making Christmas cards, the lady was lovely who was guiding the workshop and was very involved with us and gave some great ideas. The products used was great and was a great value you for money my daughter was spoilt for choice.

Excellent value for money. Great sized wooden advent calender, includes a template for the decorations. The two hours flew by but was just enough time. Enya was great, so easy to talk to. Definitely recommend and looking at booking my next workshop.

Sam was brilliant, she explained everything easy, didn’t mind me asking lots of questions about the cricut joy. Showed me how to save my own projects, as My granddaughter deleted my work by mistake showed me features on the joy that I didn’t know about. We made a cut card useing a mat, which I asked about. Gave me a tip about how to use the transfer tape to make it easier for me, I would definitely book another class if I’m stuck with my machine in the future

Sam was very professional the knowledge about the subject was endless.
Sam answered all questions I had and after 2years has inspired me to use my cricut machine again.
I will not hesitate to book again with her as she put you at ease.

Great fun for kids. We did it at Bristol Imperial and our teacher was lovely. Children were able to choose a canvas with a predrawn design from a wide choice of designs. Venue provided paints, brushed and pens. Overall a great class.

It was a lovely glass that my girls enjoyed but it needed to be longer than 30 mins. My youngest is 3.5 and eldest 6.5 and they still had quite a bit too paint and so did the other family, including an adult!
The lady doing it was nice, however the class wasn’t set up ready and she hadn’t thought about things such as some water to wash brushes etc.
Overall though it was nice class and we would rebook.

Stanley and his friends enjoyed the painting wooden spoons to make aliens. The girls helping us were lovely.

Stanley didn't like getting the paint on his hands, one of the girls was very attentive with helping him get it off.

Stanley was chuffed with the end product. We had a lovely alien spoon puppet show this eve haha.

My workshop with Laura was very informative. She showed me how to operate the Cricut maker; including how to print vinyl decor and transfer to a glass photo box and how to print and then press onto canvas.
I got all of the product knowledge and information that I feel I need.
The reason I went on this workshop is that my daughter has asked for a Cricut for Christmas and I wanted to know which one would suit her best and to be able to help her get up and running with it!

Took my girl along to our local Hobbycraft to attend their “Kids' Friendship Bracelet Making (5-10 Years)” workshop.

Pre pandemic, we would attend the free demos that were done in store, and loved them, so she’s been asking when we can go back for the past 18 months. It’s slightly different now, inasmuch as you pay for an hours demo, and get a kit that includes everything that you will need. Amazing value for money ~ and our demonstrator Jack was great The girl was so pleased to be back in her favourite store “making stuff” Can’t wait to do the Christmas workshops that we have booked

We really enjoyed the class however the class being for 4-7 year olds (my daughter 5) it would be better if you had children’s scissors so they could actually cut it themselves other than that it was great and would definitely book more courses if there’s any available for her age range in hengrove!

Alice was amazing. Store manager also amazing. Alice had the patience of an angel. Ensured my daughter understood every step. Listened and explained every stage and made sure the pace was just right.
