Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Very informative and helpful teacher, was able to provide a lot of information in a very limited time frame and give us the tools to go away and improve our skills. Also very good value for money as we got to take away a goodie bag with yarn, a crochet hook and instructions.

The Clay Monster workshop was such fun. Fiona the teacher was great with the kids, explaining so much in an easy way for them to understand. They were given a great choice of colours & shown how to marble & also blend colours, create different shapes to add, use different tools for effects & also add other materials such as feathers, googly eyes, pipe cleaners etc. The kids were encouraged to experiment with their own ideas to make amazing creations. Such great value for money. A perfect session for an excited 5 year old who didn’t want to stop creating & come home.

Susan was excellent. It was a well paced class and she took the time to come round the group demonstrating and helping us to perfect our stitches. It was good to get to try the different hooks as well- I hadn't realised the difference metal vs plastic etc would be.

I've added two photos- one is the try made at the session and the other is after I got home and started again. Still not perfect but it's a huge improvement and I'm so pleased with it!

Another excellent class which my granddaughter -6 years old loved.
The teacher, Fiona, was very good, friendly, patient and excellent at showing and explaining everything to the children and giving them ideas to make their own canvas. The materials provided at the class were excellent and plenty of choices for everybody. Giving good vale for money.

The teacher, Fiona, was very good with the children and taking a lot of time to explain and show what to do.
The venue was good.
The materials provided were all very good and gave great value for the money paid for the course.

our tutor was attentive and patient, I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. Prior to the lesson I’d tried many different methods to get started with crochet but could never wrap my head around the instructions or demonstrations, the 1.5 hour class was incredibly helpful and enjoyable; I came away feeling so much more confident and motivated to learn more. I felt the lady spent too much time telling us about too much advanced information and what she did and about more advanced techniques and books, wool etc that perhaps could have waited until a further class? I was there as a granny and had a bit if knowledge as i did crochet many years ago but could do as she said but my grandaughter got quite frustrated as she is competitive. This was a beginner class so really concentrating in holding hook and just making them relax and enjoy the experience. The other people in group were 2 young children and mum but who were of chinese origin maybe and english was maybe a little bit hard to explain to them and not sure they found it helpful

I found the workshop to be excellent. The colleague listened to my comments and was very patient and reassuring when I expressed any doubts about my abilities. I was shown how to thread a machine and also to use two machines to give me an idea of what features each had so that I could make a decision on which machine suited my needs best.

Kids really enjoyed the Easter bonnet class. Would highly recommend. The teacher was great. The kids liked the materials and enjoyed selecting which items to put on their bonnets, where they were able to use their imagination and create the design they wanted.

It’s a great activity for a variety of ages and I liked that it was just a small group as my son is usually very shy, but I knew he was enjoying himself because he was chatty and confident enough to choose his own paint colours. I was at the workshop with my best friend from schooldays. We both thoroughly enjoyed the class. The teacher was great giving us lots of advice on how to create the wreath. It was relaxed fun and didnt feel under pressure. We were guided step by step. I would of liked perhaps a wider choice in the type of wreath and materials available possibily 3 different choices on line when selecting and booking the class ie. maybe using daffodils tulips hyacinths daisys.

The workshop was really good. I had just bought a new machine and she went through everything on my new machine. Showed me how to clean it. Hemming and buttonholes. I asked questions and took some photos and a video so as to remember some bits. It was helpful with lots of tips. Well Done.

We did the autumnal wreath making workshop last weekend. Kat our teacher was fantastic at giving us directions but also helping us personalise each of our wreaths and providing lots of different materials. Really useful having a one to one session as you can ask the pointed questions that only you might be struggling with. You can refer to your own machine and be shown what will help you most. Susan was so good and makes me feel comfortable asking questions that are probably very basic to an experienced sewist.

Excellent value for money. 3.5 year old grand daughter chose the colour she wanted , I glued and she stuck them on. Concentrated for the whole hour. The workshop leader was great, let us stay slightly longer as granddaughter spotted some gems she hadn't seen and was allowed to take her time adding them and not encouraged to leave.

We had a really great experience and will definitely look into other classes like this. My son is only 3 so wasn’t sure whether he would sit for the whole time but he seemed to really like it. Brilliant fun! Kids loved it. Fiona was excellent with kids and really engaged them. They made a bat, ghost and pumpkin. Great value for money. Session over ran, which was fine but maybe needs to be longer than 30 mins in future. My kids would happily have stayed all day! We bought clay downstairs to do more at home.

This was my first hobbycraft workshop and I absolutely loved it. The kit has everything you need and the hour flew by, it's so fun and relaxing. The teacher was wonderful, great at explaining and really friendly. She showed me some of her own work and it was amazing, she really knows what she's doing. Very experienced teacher who made the class enjoyable. Gave us plenty time to practice and came round us individually to give 1 to1 tuition.
Got a big goodie bag to take away with plenty materials to practice with.
Class was upstairs in open area, there were a few customers that walked by but didn’t feel we were interrupted, we were to busy trying to concentrate and get the stitches right!

This was my first introduction to sawgrass sublimation,I am a complete novice.
Kat & Kim went through how the printer and heat press work and gave lots of tips on how to get started.
I would definitely recommend this short introduction course.

The teacher - Fiona - was great! She was friendly and fun and chatty. The corner where the table was set up was away from the main areas and near the toilets, so quiet and convenient. The materials were varied. It was good value for money although at just 30 mins was a bit rushed. The normal hour would have been better and more enjoyable. Could have added in more variety to the key ring project, maybe also catered for the different ages of participants. Samuel liked that you could choose from the materials provided and make the key rings as he wanted. We're looking forward to the next class. Hopefully it will last the hour. I think it's great you offer these classes

Really enjoyed the class, thank you. Finally I've got the hang of crochet after trying many times on my own. The teacher was excellent and the class was informal and friendly, yet on task for the whole time. All the materials were provided, including an instruction sheet to take away. I would definitely recommend this workshop, and will be taking part in others in future.

Such a fun class! My teacher was great, it was easy to do and I got so much stuff to take home in my kit. This is the second time I have been in a class here and It is great to try a new craft with someone on hand to guide you through. They even offered to let me collect the work I made a few days later so it would have a chance to dry prpperly and it wouldn't ruin it on the way home! Highly recommend

Had a great lesson from Kat at Aberdeen branch. I explained what I’d be using the Cricut for and she tailored my class to me. Certinly worthwhile because I wasn’t sure about laying out quite a lot of money on the vinyl cutter , but ended up leaving with the cutter and bags of vinyl.

Excellent value for money. Carly put me at my ease and made everything seem very straightforward accessible. Alongside learning how ro set up the one step buttonhole foot on a shop display machine, we figured out why my machine wasn't doing the automatic buttonholes properly, and I managed successly to put buttonholes on a shirt that I have been trying to finish for a coupke of weeks. As a parent you are always looking for interesting ways to entertain your children and these workshops are fantastic.

Our host Fiona was lovely, friendly and helpful and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed the workshop.

There was no shortage of resources and the children were allowed to make it their own which went down well.

I would absolutely recommend these classes to anyone with children that love to draw / craft and It’s very reasonably priced. We will continue to attend more of these workshops.

Kat did an excellent job leading this session and my daughter Lucy (5) had a great time making her Easter bucket. There were plenty of resources for her to use and the results were a spectacular bucket, decorated from top to bottom. Kat was very encouraging to Lucy and gave her some good hints and tips along the way which she used in her creative design. Mum and Granny both delighted with the outcome when we went home with Lucy's new creation.

This was good value for money. The pack was unexpected and really valuable-wool, guide to stitches and a hook.Susan the teacher was very pleasant and knew her stuff. I would have liked a bit more demonstration of the stitches and a chance to practice more but I appreciate time was tight.

She made a lovely Xmas tree decoration and, because there was time left, Fiona showed the kids how to make a pipe cleaner wreath, which they also enjoyed making. Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. My Wreath came out exatly as shown.
Now on my door, looks real. Our teacher was really good at presenting what we needed do to.
I would recommend this class for all ages. Now thinking next year which one i will do. I am also gonig to look at other classes to attend.
Def worth the monery as you get extra stuff to put on your Wreath. Plus you can use each year.

I would love to give a review saying how much I enjoyed the class, but I can’t as I never got there hence a neutral score.
Unfortunately the Aberdeen classes are held in Union Square shopping centre and as I discovered today Saturday afternoon means absolute chaos in that locations parking and zero chance of getting to Hobbycraft on time for the class despite giving myself an hour to get parked.

I realise the appalling organisation at Union Square is not Hobbycraft fault, however I would suggest that at Aberdeen classes are held on a Saturday morning or during weekdays.

Carly is so knowledgable, friendly and patient.
Hobby Craft customer service is brilliant.
I asked for a tutorial on a day the member of staff that does them is usually off. Work shifts were changed to accommodate this.
I booked the sewing class to help me bond with my overlocker and improve my sewing skills.
I took my overlocker with me, along with a page of questions and sewing projects.
I learnt a way to pin a sleeve in place, how to check the stitches on my overlocker, how to trouble shoot the stitches if they are a bit wonky and how to sew a curve on my overlocker.
As a wheelchair user, unlike other shops, the shop floor has ample space and nothing is displaced on the shop floor restricting my wheelchair movement.
Really good value for money. Highly recommended.

It was for my grandson 4yrs old. He managed to follow the instructions teacher was very good with instructions and he came away with 2 spiders that was his first time at Hobbycraft Aberdeen but we often book our other 8yr old granddaughter she has been to a few and I think her mum has her booked in for some coming up. It's a great idea for kids and adults money is very reasonable for what they get and it's because it's that price for the kids I can afford to put them most stuff for kids is way higher and don't see anything for their efforts. Don't ever stop doing this and keep the costs the same I'd say. Thank you Helen Willox

Tracey was amazing!
For the age group present, think would be good to have a few examples of paint techniques on canvas to show - but she did so well going around everyone.
It is a shame that a store like Aberdeen doesn’t have a designated craft space, there is space there if floor plan is considered and this would be a massive addition to the area.

Today we had a lovely time with Fiona and helper in Aberdeen. The soft clay felt ace , there was plenty of it , such lovely colours too and so many little bits to embellish our creatures . We were delighted to take our creations home and they are drying at the moment. My favourite is my pencil topper . Thank you

Carly was am delightful very friendly and extremely patient with my 'simple' questions. Anything I asked she explained in a very clear and easy to follow manner . I only very recently purchased my Janome HC 8100 from Hobbycraft, Aberdeen so some of my questions were basic - tensions, bobbin winding, how to use the zipper foot and ( never used before) the button hole and Carly was able to explain/show these to me. She also explained a number of other items - value set buttons, cursor buttons, auto lock button which was extremely helpful. Enjoyed Beginners Guide to Embroidery taught by Carly.
The Beginners kit we were given was great, plenty to get you started. Carly was a great, patient teacher and we learnt a lot of skills and stitches to get us started. The area used upstairs at back of shop was nice and quiet but for a few shoppers. Found it relaxing and can't wait to continue practicing what I've learnt. Thank you Carly and Hobbycraft

I was completely new to the sewing machine and Carly took me through the basics in a way I could learn quickly and practise on the machine immediatlely what I was being taught. I had brought a few tasks along that I wanted to do and with her expert guidance I completed two out of the three. I learned a lot in the hour which whizzed by as I was so absorbed . Carly is an excellent teacher with a very friendly and relaxed manner and an expert knowledge of her subject. I could not have wished for a better introduction to the sewing machine. Many thanks!

Kat was an excellent teacher. There’s nothing about Cricut that she doesn’t know. She’s friendly and also a genuinely enthusiastic crafter.
My daughter and I started with very little knowledge of Cricut and we left feeling confident in the basics, and with a few simple tricks up our sleeves to make more complex projects.
It was particularly useful that Kat explained all of the different Cricut materials and how they work.
Kat held the attention of my autistic daughter for our full session and, when I asked for feedback, she said 10/10.
I am thinking that, once we’ve mastered the basics, we may return for another session to learn more about some of the advanced features.

Absolutely loved my sewing workshop. Carly was very patient with me and took time to explain the machine and answer all my questions. She gave me loads of hints and tips.
She was so helpful when it came to buying my machine and the extras I would need to have with it.

Improvements would perhaps be buying a block session at a discounted price, that way you could work through a long-term project with your teacher.

Very good value for money, really informative, and I would definitely recommend starters to take these classes. She also helped me choose additional products for my cricut. 10 out of ten!

No criticism of the teacher as Susan was fantastic and very patient. The only issue which was evident for all members was that the project was a bit too complicated to begin with. It would have been better if we made squares, practicing simple crochet like double crochet, half triple crochet and triple crochet as these are the basics and would have been more beneficial as a beginner to learn.

Brilliant hour learning about sewing machine. Susan was great. She asked me what I wanted from the session and made sure this was covered. Methodically went through the workings of machine and then handed it over to me. Allowed me to set up then start sewing. A great teacher who watched what I was doing without any pressure. Didn't get the set up perfect, but Susan turned it into a unique teaching opportunity. Ultimately felt like a friend was sitting beside me. Would definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this class. Our teacher Susan was really nice, helpful and supported as best she could in what felt a very limited time slot. She was really knowledgeable and showed us how to make a Christmas wreath from start to finish, showing us different techniques on how to attach the different items and offered great design ideas. I loved the kit that was provided and it was great that you got supplied with a glue gun too. As part of the class Susan also explained how to use a glue gun for those of us who hadn't done so before.
There was plenty of spare kit leftover for future use and the kit was supplemented by additional materials within the class, which allowed variety in our wreaths. The venue was a table on the upper shop floor which I found a bit difficult as the speakers playing Christmas music continually made it difficult at times to focus on what Susan was saying and shoppers passing by distracted me. The table was quite small for the group size and it felt quite cramped as a workspace. We paid a black Friday price which I think was good value for money when you consider the cost of the kit and the teacher time. However at full price I think a longer class would offer better value.

I had expected some direction and guidance in wreath making. I had not expected to be presented with a kit.
Our host was very pleasant and the small class was a bonus.

However, I could have bought the items off the shelf in store and spent less money to make the wreath at home.

The autumn wreath workshop was super fun and I made a lovely wreath. Susan my teacher was so enthusiastic, friendly and gave me very helpful tips. All in all it was a fantastic experience and the box of allocated materials worked really well!

Our teacher, Susan, was very kind and friendly. Personally I felt as though we couldn't do too much in the one hour and I probably would not come back to this particular class again. The resources provided were good.

I enjoyed the class and liked the new set up the Aberdeen store has with the cricut machines. Been able to actual do a project on the fusible ink made the class more informative and fun. Kim was great at leading me through the examples with hand on experience. It definitely was value for money. Below is a coaster that was made with infusible ink pens. I definitely will be doing more.

Thoroughly enjoyable time spent with Andrea making my Autumn Wreath, quality products and presented in a box which would keep it in good condition for storage which was great. Andrea’s tips on how to get the best from use of the glue gun, and arranging the materials was beneficial and she was encouraging in exploring my own creative flair. The end result had a few extra additions of my own but I’m delighted and will absolutely book to do similar workshops again.

Enjoyed the craft workshop (Christmas Cloche making) at the Aberdeen store. Although easy to construct, it was good to get some helpful tips around layout/other craft materials that could be incorporated etc and ideas to inspire me to make more as gifts … and how to make best use of a glue gun! Hadn’t appreciated I would get my own box containing ALL materials needed for the class due to current times which I could then take home. This made the class excellent value for money with unused items there to help make more!

I’m booked in for another workshop and looking forward to it already!

Really enjoyed crafting with Tracey. She explained everything clearly and let me take my time. She also gave me lots of neat tips and tricks and suggestions for crafting. The session was easy to book and everything I needed was in the kit provided. I will definitely be doing another workshop.

My daughter and I enjoyed learning a new skill and got a lot of help picking out materials to develop our skills at home. Perhaps more time could have been spent on the basic cross stitch itself since we were beginners.

The teacher was very good in her training.
I personally felt it was a good class but I believe it could may be have been more interactive.
Even I feel leaving the kids independently would have been nice as it gives them more freedom in their thoughts.

Apart from that it was totally enjoyable experience.

My granddaughter enjoyed the art class. The tutor was very informative and patient and explained what to do. The canvas to paint on I think could have been a bit simpler in design for younger children of this age group. The pack provided with the class was all that is needed to paint. The class was good value for money.
