Happy Origami Workshop

1.5 hours Class size 1 to 10 guests       £17

In this delightful workshop, you'll master the art of Japanese paper folding, creating an array of charming pieces from elegant flowers to practical gift boxes. Under the expert guidance of Japanese Origami artist Toshiko, you'll learn traditional folding techniques while crafting beautiful items like tulips, lilies, kimono bookmarks, and lovely decorative bunting—each workshop featuring its own special theme.
If you're seeking a peaceful creative activity that combines artistry with mindfulness, this origami session offers the perfect blend. The gentle process of transforming simple paper into intricate designs creates a wonderfully calming atmosphere, making it an ideal way to unwind and express yourself creatively.
As you fold each creation, Toshiko enriches the experience with fascinating insights into Japanese culture. They'll share authentic elements of their heritage through special 'Japanese toppings'—from wearing and explaining traditional kimono to teaching Japanese language phrases and discussing seasonal ceremonies. You'll work with carefully selected papers while learning about the cultural significance behind each design.
This immersive workshop will leave you with a deep appreciation for Japanese paper-folding traditions, along with a collection of your own handcrafted origami pieces. Beyond the beautiful items you create, you'll gain a sense of tranquility and accomplishment that comes from mastering this mindful art form.
Each session brings new surprises and designs, making every workshop a unique cultural experience.
