Join me for a relaxed and creative two-hour pottery workshop in Stratford-upon-Avon, where you’ll learn to hand-build and decorate your very own ceramic coffee travel cup. This is an adults-only pottery workshop, perfect for complete beginners. You’ll be guided through each step - from shaping the clay to adding your own unique touches.
After the workshop, your travel cup will stay at the studio to be carefully dried, glazed, and twice-fired, making it food-safe and durable for everyday use. Finished mugs will be ready to collect 4–5 weeks later, or can be posted for an additional cost.
Come along for a cosy evening with friends, or join solo and meet like-minded people in a welcoming atmosphere. By the end, you’ll have crafted a beautiful, functional piece of pottery to treasure with every sip.
Please note:
  • Unfortunately, the studio does not currently have disabled toilet access. If you have any special requirements or accessibility needs, please get in touch in advance and I’ll do my best to accommodate you.
  • Clay is a natural material and can occasionally crack or break during firing. Every care will be taken to ensure your mug makes it through the process, but this risk is part of working with clay.
What you'll get
You’ll have crafted a beautiful, functional piece of pottery to treasure with every sip.

What to bring
The studio is in a beautiful old barn building, which can be a little chilly, so bring a warm layer. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little clay on (but don’t worry, clay washes out easily!).

Hi, I’m Sophie a ceramic artist and teacher with a degree in Design Crafts. My journey with clay began at university, where I fell in love with the immediacy and tactility of the material. What started as a creative exploration quickly grew into a lifelong passion for making and sharing the joy of pottery with others.
I’ve been teaching pottery workshops for the past two years, focusing on hand-building techniques that allow creativity and individuality to shine. I love showing students how to shape, texture, and form clay using just their hands and a few simple tools - no two pieces are ever the same. Watching people slow down, connect with the material, and discover their own creative rhythm is one of the best parts of what I do.
My work has been featured in Prima Magazine, and I was proud to be a potter on The Great Pottery Throw Down, Season 7. Through my classes, I aim to create a relaxed, encouraging space where creativity and confidence can flourish - and everyone leaves with something handmade and uniquely their own.
