Glassblowing Full Day Masterclass

Start this class as a beginner and leave a glassmaking addict!In this full-day workshop, you’ll discover the fascinating world of glassblowing, guided step by step by experienced and encouraging glassmaking experts in their inspiring studio.With all materials, supplies and equipment provided, learning to blow glass couldn’t be easier.Although you’ll be building technical skills, there’s still plenty of space for creativity — after all, you’re learning from top glass-blowing artists! With a full spectrum of colours at your fingertips, you can experiment, play and style your glass however you like. At the start of the workshop, you’ll explore colour and texture techniques that you can apply to your own pieces.You will make three of the following glassware, art and ornaments to create during the workshop:

• Paperweight
• Bowl

• Jug

You’ll master how to safely and confidently heat molten glass in a 1100°C furnace, gather it with historical hand-forged tools, and begin shaping it with air and movement. After learning how to remove glass from the furnace, you’ll sculpt and blow your own pieces under expert guidance.Once the making is done, it’s time to cool off — literally! You’ll learn how to cool your glass like a professional, understanding why this stage is just as crucial as heating.️ Important: Your glass pieces will need to anneal (cool slowly) in a kiln for around 12 hours to ensure they’re strong and safe. After annealing, cold working (final finishing and refining) will be completed by the teacher.You can arrange a time to collect your finished work once it’s ready, or have it safely packaged and sent to you by post.Throughout the day, you’ll learn through a combination of engaging demonstrations and hands-on practice, making sure you understand each stage of the process safely and confidently.You’ll leave the workshop not only with three personalised glass creations but also with a clear understanding of glassblowing techniques — and very likely a burning desire to make more!
