We started First Glass with a simple idea: wanting to taste a great wine without committing to a whole bottle. The three of us returned to Italy after years abroad and decided to do something about it: creating the world’s first wine format in a genuine 100ml, glass-equivalent bottle. Think of it as a perfume tester, but for wine.We launched in Florence with our flagship store on the Lungarno, just steps from Ponte Vecchio. Since then, we’ve created curated boxes and tasting kits featuring authentic Italian labels, selected with the same care an enologist would bring to a wine list — just without the commitment of a full bottle.What we love most is watching people’s guard drop the moment wine tasting stops feeling intimidating. No pressure to finish a bottle, no fear of “getting it wrong” — just curiosity, one small glass at a time. That’s exactly what we bring to our tastings: a relaxed, sensory-led way to explore wine, rooted in genuine Tuscan tradition but approached with a sense of lightness and playfulness.We’ve since taken the concept beyond the shop — into hotels, pop-ups, and now group tasting experiences, including corporate and private sessions in London. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already know what you like, our sessions are designed to make quality wine approachable, one 100ml pour at a time.
