We are thrilled to welcome back the wonderful Jane Moore as our September MasterMaker for 2026! This month’s theme is inspired by "The Giver" by Lois Lowry, a world awakened through colour, and we couldn’t imagine anyone more fitting to bring this vision to life. Renowned for her distinctive creations using vibrant coloured enamel, Jane is a celebrated figure in British jewellery and craft.Join us for this fantastic opportunity to meet Jane, learn about her artistic journey, and create a stunning enamelled piece inspired by her signature style, all under her expert guidance. Over the course of five captivating hours, you’ll enjoy a talk, watch a live demonstration, and take part in a hands-on enamelling and texturing workshop.Spaces are limited, so don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience. During the workshop, you will cover:

• Texturing using the rolling mill
• Doming techniques
• Enamelling with transparent vitreous enamel
• How to achieve a beautiful, clean enamelled surface

This is a wonderful opportunity to hear Jane share her creative journey and the evolution of her remarkable work. You’ll have the chance to handle some of her stunning creations, learn about her processes, and discover how she developed her unique and captivating style.Following the talk and Q&A session, Jane will guide you step-by-step in creating your own enamelled jewellery piece.You’ll begin by experimenting with textures using a rolling mill, selecting a pattern to imprint onto your silver. From there, you’ll cut and dome the metal to form a three-dimensional design. Then comes the most exciting part: adding colour.Choose from an array of vibrant transparent enamels to layer over your design, allowing the texture beneath to shine through. Jane will guide you through the firing process, demonstrating how to build depth and richness through multiple firings.Throughout the day, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and gain insight into this beautiful technique.The experience concludes with a relaxed chat and mingle with Jane over wine and delicious sushi from our neighbours, Mugen.
