Meet Your Tutor
You will be met by Louise, your tutor, who will welcome you, take you to the studio, put you at ease and answer any initial questions you have. She will offer you a drink and explain housekeeping details. You will then hear about what is going to happen during the course, the magic of silver clay and the tools you will need. Louise is there to help through each stage.
Design Your Piece
You will learn about the pieces that can be made. You will work with Louise to choose the design of the piece you wish to make. Then you will be guided as to which tools you need and instructed how to use them. Then open your packet of clay and prepare for working the clay.
Work the Clay
You start to make your own unique piece of jewellery by moulding and shaping your clay piece. Once you are happy with it, you prepare it for firing. As always, Louise will be around to help you if and when you require it. The next stage will be firing.
Fire It Up
The magic happens at this stage. Your piece will be fired. This is where the clay transforms into silver. The firing removes the binding compound from the clay leaving your piece to be 99.9% pure silver. This silver is of hallmark quality.
Polishing and Finishing
Apply the enamel and then using tools and manually polishing and finishing to create a shining piece of pure silver jewellery. If your piece needs a jump ring to fit on to a chain then it will be added at this stage.

Admire your beautiful finished piece before taking it home to wear with pride or make as a gift for a loved one.

I design, make and sell my own unique handmade silver jewellery and also teach how to make silver jewellery.I began my journey into silver metal clay whilst running a pottery studio and soon became hooked! The magic of turning a piece of clay into a solid piece of Hallmark Standard Silver never fails to amaze me and I love sharing this with my students and helping them create a lovely piece of jewellery that they can wear proudly home makes my job the best.
