Hi, I'm Shelby — founder of Elizabeth An'Marie and your machine knitting teacher.I fell in love with machine knitting the way most good obsessions start: completely by accident, and then completely all-consuming. There's something almost magic about it — a flat bed of needles turning a single strand of yarn into a garment you designed, made, and can actually wear. Once I understood what the machine could do, I couldn't stop.That love for colour and wearable fashion is what shaped Elizabeth An'Marie — a knitwear studio built on the idea that what you make should be as considered as what you'd buy in a shop. Not "craft-y." Genuinely wearable, genuinely yours.While working in the studio, I taught machine knitting at university level, guiding young women and men — many of whom had never touched a machine before — through their first cast-on to their first finished piece. Watching that moment click for someone, where the machine stops being intimidating and starts being theirs, is honestly my favourite part of teaching.That's what I want to bring to every class here: no jargon, no assuming you already know things, just a clear path from "I've never touched a knitting machine" to "I made this."
