£28 - £30 (£30 per guest when you book for 1 guest, £28/guest for 2+ guests) (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

A half-day holiday craft camp where kids learn a new upcycling skill each day, turning everyday and reclaimed materials into something they'll be proud to keep. Run by Jacqui, a Furniture Artist, keen upcycler, and former Assistant Headteacher with 15 years' teaching experience. Small class sizes (max 8) mean every child gets proper support to learn the skill and finish their piece, in a fully inclusive environment with experienced SEN teaching.
What's included:
  • A different guided upcycling craft each day (see timetable)
  • All core materials and tools provided
  • Morning fruit snack
  • Small group teaching (max 8 children)
  • A finished, take-home upcycled creation every session
Half day: 10am–12.30pm
Full days also available. Message me to book. Afternoons consist of free choice art/craft activities as well as games, books, etc., for quiet time, plus a short walk and picnic by the River Thames.
What to bring:
Most materials are provided, but a few days ask you to bring something from home:
  • Tuesday (Week 1): a tin can, for Tin Can Plant Pot Upcycling
  • Wednesday (Week 1): something from home to upcycle — a picture frame, mirror, trinket box, or similar

Hi!
I'm passionate about sustainability and upcycling and I also have a real love for anything mid-century modern. I've been teaching for 15 years and I was previously an Assistant Headteacher. During that time, I was responsible for teaching art across different year groups and developed a love for creativity.
I've upcycled many pieces of furniture including impressive looking pieces of Stag furniture, Harrops Better Furniture and many other mid century modern pieces from writing bureaus to dressers. I've also upcycled simple occasional tables and bedside tables.
I have used a variety of decorative effects for my furniture including stenciling, decoupage (both napkin decoupage and rice paper), furniture painting and wood effects to create truly stunning transformative pieces.
Three years ago, I had a cancer diagnosis. I wasn't going to be beaten and this spurred me on to follow a more creative path, hence my love of upcycling furniture and the Vintage Chic ReLoved was created. I'm delighted that I now have the opportunity to combine both my extensive teaching experience and knowledge of transforming pre-loved furniture into upcycling workshops aimed at creating a more sustainable circular economy.
My upcycling workshops are for everyone. They take place at Vintage Chic ReLoved, Ferry Point, Ferry Lane, Shepperton TW17 9LQ. It's a cosy riverside studio.
If you are moving house and feeling the pinch needing to create a welcoming home with existing furniture; to learning how to create a stunning, one of a kind piece as well as being conscious about sustainability and ecological impact, or you just love to be creative and crafty, then my workshops are for you.
If you have any questions at all or you just want to connect, please do drop me a line on here. I always love hearing from you and I love forward to meeting with you soon at one of my workshops.
Lots of Vintage Chic love
Jacqui
