This workshop is kids friendly. Kids tickets can be purchase as an additional add on.
In this workshop at the Natural History Museum, you will learn to sketch your animal of choice within the area of the museum we are exploring. You'll learn a bit about ancient history and capture the essence of prehistoric animals. You will be provided with sketching materials such as pencils and A4 paper to create your own drawings, which you can take home with you at the end of the session.
The museum is iconic and we explore, chat, sketch and you can take pics as we go. We explore a lot in 2 hours so bring comfortable shoes and something to drink.
Please note: I will email you the meeting point before the time!
The Highlights:
  • A great way to unwind from the city
  • You're not expected to create an ultra-realistic art piece but to enjoy the process and create at your own speed and level
  • Your own individual sketches to take home
  • Sketch in an interesting, relaxing environment
  • Share your drawings with the group and reflect on your experience
  • Draw a "Day in the Life" of the animal you were drawn to
Average length: 2 hrs
We’ll jump into the animal world where we will find out about the chosen area of the museum. You’ll have several drawings to take away and will be encouraged to use a variety of dry art materials to capture your chosen subjects and your experience at the museum.
You’ll get a brief storytelling segment of the area of the museum we will sketch in. You’ll be encouraged to draw the unseen which will also deepen your connection to natural history.
Towards the end, we’ll have a closing reflection or exhibit of our drawings, where you can share what inspired you or a notable detail you noticed in your subject.
This event is accessible and enjoyable for participants at all skill levels.
By the end of the session, you will have a collection of drawings to cherish from your experience at the museum as a memento of this creative and fun activity.
