Celebrate the cosy season with a relaxed morning of crochet, creativity, and autumn treats in Ripon! In this three-hour Dancing Leaves Autumn Crochet Workshop, you’ll create your own colourful mug mat inspired by leaves dancing and swirling through the autumn breeze.
Choose your favourite design – Autumn Dance, with its vibrant red and orange leaf, or Golden Breeze, featuring a beautiful golden leaf caught in the wind – and I’ll guide you through creating your mug mat from start to finish.
During the workshop, you will:
  • Learn how to follow the Dancing Leaves colourwork design
  • Practise changing colours neatly as you crochet
  • Work through the pattern with plenty of friendly, hands-on guidance
  • Add the finishing touches to your mug mat
  • Enjoy tea, coffee, and some delicious autumn treats while you crochet
  • Take home your finished Dancing Leaves mug mat, along with the skills and confidence to tackle more colourwork projects
All the yarn you need for your chosen design will be provided, so you can simply settle in and enjoy making.
This workshop is suitable for crocheters who already know the basic crochet stitches – you don’t need to be an expert. Small group numbers mean there’ll be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, get help, and work at a relaxed pace.

Hi, I'm Nancy, the force behind CraftingisourJazz.
I'm a crochet designer, technical editor and tutor with a passion for helping others discover just how enjoyable and rewarding crochet can be.
My designs have been published in Crochet Now, Inside Crochet and Knotions magazines, and I was delighted to design the Crochet Society's 2025 Advent CAL.
Alongside designing, I work as a crochet technical editor, helping designers produce clear, accurate patterns for crocheters around the world.
My crochet journey began during a difficult time for my family. Crafting became a source of comfort and relaxation for my daughter, who lives with a chronic illness, and seeing the difference it made inspired me to pick up my own hook again. Before long, I realised crochet offered me the same welcome escape from the everyday challenges that chronic illness brings to the whole family.
What started as a hobby soon became a real passion. Friends and family began asking me to create handmade pieces, which naturally led me into designing my own patterns. Since then, I've been fortunate to see my work published in several well-known crochet publications and to work with some wonderful organisations within the crochet community.
Today, I combine my design work, technical editing and teaching through CraftingisourJazz. Whether I'm designing a new pattern, editing someone else's work or teaching a beginner to hold a crochet hook for the very first time, my goal is always the same - to help people enjoy crochet with confidence.
I love teaching both one-to-one lessons and small group workshops, either in person or online. My classes are relaxed, friendly and supportive, and I believe there are no silly questions. Everyone starts somewhere, and I'll be with you every step of the way as you begin your own crochet journey.
