Dyeing with tea is an ancient tradition in traditional Chinese culture and handicrafts. It is an easy process and gives your textiles a rich, earthy colour. Tea leaves are rich in tannins, which bond well with natural fibres. This workshop provides an opportunity to explore a sustainable and eco-friendly way of dyeing fabrics with tea leaves. You will be guided on natural dye techniques step by step, and it is beginner-friendly. The tutor will also teach you how to make beautiful and unique tie-dye patterns. Three colours you can get through different mordants.

During the workshop, participants can have an immersive experience of the Chinese Kungfu tea ceremony. This allows participants to learn about and appreciate the art and culture of Chinese tea-making.
