Kwoklyn Wan

Kwoklyn's story begins in Leicester, where his grandfather's visionary spirit birthed the city’s first Chinese restaurant in 1962. By 1984, “The Panda,” his family-run haven, was thriving -- a symphony of Cantonese and Szechuan delights, where weekends meant Kwoklyn was peeling prawns and chopping vegetables, igniting his passion for food.

At sixteen, he embraced the chef’s mantle, crafting dishes that brought “The Panda” into The Good Food Guide. While his ventures extended into kung fu schools, fitness expos, and bubble tea shops, cooking remained his lifeblood.
Today, as the bestselling author of The Chinese Takeaway Cookbook Series and a TV chef with hit shows like Kwoklyn’s Chinese Takeaway Kitchen on Amazon Prime, his mission is clear: to bring authentic Chinese flavours into homes worldwide. Every page, every dish, tells a story of family, heritage, and unyielding passion.
