What you'll do
A single character, written well, carries balance, rhythm and personality. That is why brush calligraphy has been treasured in China for centuries. In this calm, hands-on workshop you'll learn to write your own. You'll start with how to hold and control the brush, then practise the foundational strokes before combining them into selected characters on traditional paper. Your facilitator introduces the cultural meaning behind the forms as you work.No experience needed and no artistic talent required. The meditative process is the point, and everyone leaves with a finished piece of calligraphy to take home.A lovely fit for Lunar New Year events, cultural celebrations, wellbeing sessions and creative team socials. We come to your venue and bring the materials.
What you'll get
A finished piece of Chinese calligraphy to take home. All materials are provided.
