Have you ever been fascinated by the beauty of Chinese characters, ink paintings, or traditional Chinese culture?
Join Iris for a year-long journey into the art of Chinese calligraphy and discover how brush, ink, and movement come together to create expressive and meaningful artworks.
In this course, students will explore Chinese regular script, inspired by the elegant and disciplined style of Ouyang Xun, one of the most influential calligraphers in Chinese history.
Through guided practice, demonstrations, and personalised feedback, you will learn how individual brush strokes create balance, rhythm, and harmony within Chinese characters.
No previous experience is required. Whether you are completely new to Chinese calligraphy or simply curious about Chinese culture, Iris will guide you step by step in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Through monthly in-person classes, guided practice, and ongoing feedback, we will explore:
  • Brush techniques and essential strokes
  • The structure and balance of Chinese characters
  • The rhythm and beauty of regular script
  • Creating a finished calligraphy artwork in each class to take home, display, or give as a thoughtful handmade gift
The course includes:
  • 10 in-person Chinese calligraphy classes
  • A final student exhibition celebrating everyone’s progress
  • A beautiful finished calligraphy work from each class to take home or share as a meaningful gift
  • Take-home practice copy sheets
  • Ongoing online guidance and feedback between classes

About Your Teacher:
Born and raised in Taiwan, Iris began learning Chinese calligraphy at the age of nine. She received traditional training under experienced calligraphers alongside her art education, developing a strong foundation in brush techniques, character structure, and the aesthetics of Chinese calligraphy.
After completing her studies, Iris worked alongside artists and calligraphers, continuing to deepen her understanding of Chinese art and creative practice.
She later came to London to study Art Management and has been based in London since 2019. Today, she enjoys sharing the beauty of traditional Chinese calligraphy with students from diverse cultural backgrounds, creating a bridge between Chinese artistic heritage and contemporary life.
Chinese calligraphy is not about writing quickly or perfectly. It is an invitation to slow down, observe with care, and discover the beauty that emerges through patient practice.
As brush, ink, and movement come together, many people find a quiet, meditative rhythm. This course offers not only the opportunity to learn a traditional art form but also a meaningful connection with Chinese culture and a gentle space for inner exploration.
