Join me for an evening of creativity and connection at The Four Thieves, near Clapham Junction. Whether you're an experienced poet or you've never put pen to paper, this is an inclusive space to spark new ideas and meet like-minded creatives.
A cosy, private bar space -- expect engaging prompts, unorthodox writing exercises, discussion about contemporary poetry and an opportunity for feedback on your work. If you already have a poem you'd like to share and workshop, please bring 5 printed copies along with you.
No need to worry if you've never written a poem before - this welcoming space welcomes all levels of experience. You'll find yourself surprised by the ideas that flow once the creative juices start flowing, guided by thought-provoking prompts and unconventional exercises.
Here's how your evening of poetic exploration will unfold:
  • 6:30-6:45pm: Arrive and settle in, grabbing a drink to set the mood
  • 6:45-7:45pm: Dive into reading, lively discussion, and your first writing activity
  • 7:45-8:00pm: Take a short break to refresh and reflect
  • 8:00-9:00pm: Continue with more writing, workshopping, and the opportunity to share your creations

I am a poet, creative writing tutor and energetic facilitator. I am especially passionate about making poetry more accessible, affordable and inclusive for everyone.
I've been running sell-out poetry workshops in London for the past two years and inspired hundreds of students to develop their poetic voice. My workshops have a strong sense of community, collaboration and safety to share. I love the energy I get from teaching creative writing and inspiring new work -- a huge amount of which has ended up in our very own anthology, 'Slow Progress'!
A bit about me...
In addition to editing 'Slow Progress' (2024), my first collection ‘The Thought Sits With Me’ (2022) is available from Nine Pens. I have been shortlisted for the New Poets Prize, Plough Prize and Teignmouth Prize and been published in a number of journals.
I perform my poetry at a range of London events, most recently alongside accomplished poets Lorraine Mariner and John McCullough. I was the 2024 judge of the EHP Barnard Prize, awarding first place to National Poetry Competition winner, Imogen Wade.
I have a First Class degree in English Literature from King's College London and have trained in Counselling Skills -- an empathetic, human-centred approach which I enjoy bringing to my teaching.
