Ceramics Course: Lidded Vessels and Sgraffito Level 1 and 2

Develop your wheel throwing and trimming over five afternoons in this pottery course in London, where you'll also learn to make well-fitting lids and use sgraffito to add texture, pattern and detail to your work.Across five consecutive sessions, your experienced teachers will help you refine your technique at the wheel and try out new ways to decorate your pieces. Classes are capped at 12 participants, so you'll get plenty of one-on-one guidance and hands-on practice. The course is focused on technique and confidence, giving you skills to take back into your own making.It's a relaxed, fun week in the studio, so wear something comfortable that you won't mind getting a little clay on. An apron is a good idea: bring your own if you have one, or borrow one at the studio. Short nails make working with clay easier, and if you have long hair, tying it back will keep it out of your way.By Friday, you'll have a steadier hand on the wheel, a few lidded forms under your belt and a new decorating technique to keep experimenting with.Please note: this course runs over five consecutive days, from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October, 2pm – 5pm each day.
